I just picked this one up yesterday... Circuit City has a deal going... Regular price is $49.99, then take off $5 for their current sale, and on top of that, you get a free $10 gift card...

Whaddya mean, no fair? There aren't any gameplay differences between the European and the US versions. The packaging may be different and there might be a multilanguage option (I don't know if it's like that or not, but it doesn't matter), but it's still the same game.

Whatever people have said in their comments regarding the NTSC US version applies to the European version as well as the Japanese version. Simple as that.

New Year's day a few friends and I got together to give this a whirl; I had gotten some regular GBAs for $30 each (it was that GBA / e-Reader bundle that was on Amazon.com a while back), and while the regular GBAs are not ideal for it the game was a lot of fun on the whole. The whole competetive / cooperative thing is done so well - you're actually helping each other and trying to outdo one another at the same time! Some of the puzzles and bad guys are really interesting, too...I don't want to give anything away, but suffice it to say that it really puts a great twist on some of the classic Zelda "formulas" when you have four people involved in the process.

Great game. You could get it from KB online for $36 (free shipping, I think) over the holidays; this sale is probably over.

I've just played through the first level, and am still unsure whether or not I like it...

I loved Minish Cap, but this seems too fiddly more than anything. And honestly, i'm sure it doesn't need to keep jumping to the GBA as often as it does...

The thing I find most annoying though, is how you can only save after each level is completed...

And is this the same or a different game to the one which came with Link To The Past? If not, what is it's relevance to it?

I played with my brother and my friend, both of which are the biggest zelda fans I know, and they totally loved it. Of course I killed them on points becuase they spent the whole time trying to kill each other while I was collecting rupees but we had a blast. I have to admit that burning each other and blowing each other up is really addicting and I'm surprised this game hasn't gotten more of a buzz because it's really fun to play. It's also pretty long, we played for like 2 and a half hours and only beat the first level so there's plenty of gaming to be had. I'm not sure how difficult the game is later on but I'm not worried about it. It's not the challenge that's fun, it's the collaboration and competition that makes this game amazing.

By the way I played a demo of minish cap at Target and was very impressed with the graphics. Right up there with Chrono Trigger as far as the backgrounds go.

Besides the fact that "CDi Zelda" in Google would have answered your question...

As part of Nintendo's half-baked attempt to screw Sony and go with Phillips for a CD-based video game system, they struck a deal to release several Zelda games on the CDi system. They all stunk; therefore he "keeds" (kids) when he says that the game should be put on the CDi.

I bought this game when it first came out and played
it in single player mode for about 15 minutes.
It sat on a shelf until 2 weeks ago.

I was under the impression that you either had to
play in single player mode or with 4 players.

How wrong I was. My 7 year old daughter and I
have been playing it and having a blast. It is my favorite
coop game of all time. We just finished level 5

I highly recommend it. You wont be dissappointed!!!!

Wow. This thread is old. But hey, I'll chime in and say it's probably the most under-rated Zelda game ever. Lots of fun. Just be sure not to be playing with total bone-heads in multi-player (took us a freakin hour and a half just to get through one level because one guy kept wandering off and another thought it was hilarious to keep hitting everyone with the Fire Wand)

Hee hee, that's the fun part, being a sneaky little player and getting all the loot for yourself!

I've only played this two player so far, but it SO fun. I'm very glad I bought it and considering it includes a link cable (haw haw, LINK cable... .....) it is, in my opinion, worth the price tag. I ended up buying the UK box because it's a lot nicer looking than the Australian release.

Nothing better than playing it with a Zelda SP!

My friends and I have been muddling through the game since spring-it's slow going, since we have to get all the people and equipment together, but when we're going, it's a load of fun.

    Ancient thread revival...

Just picked up Zelda: Four Swords Adventures very cheap and decided to try it out (on my Wii) since I missed it back in the day when it was first released. Only a couple of hours in but OMG, this game is one of the most fun experiences I've had with my clothes on for a very long time.

Anyone who has yet to play this, please do yourself a favour and pick it up for cheap and try it out.

I have fond memories of Four Swords. I only wish it was longer and maybe a touch harder.

My copy has a strange glitch. Every so often, you'll switch screens and the controls will reverse, forcing me to pause the game and unplug the controller.

Four Swords is extremely awesome multiplayer. I own four SPs and Link cables just so I can bust out the game during parties and everyone always loves it. Although my friends tend to lose patience during the shadow town. They just like killing things and shanking one another in the back for rupees.

Im yet to play it multiplayer However ive been told you can be very evil on it...
Picking up a new weapon/useable item, will leave your character invincible until the dialogue has left your screen. So leave the rest up to your other players as you read slowly.

Yeah, but your friends can beat up on you, and steal your shit. Also if they pick you up, you can't do anything until they throw you down. Pissing off your friends isn't generally a good idea.

Four Swords is such a fun game. It's essentially "Zelda Arcade" and it works so very well. I too played it on Gamecube with all the wires, still excellent.
