    Default NES R.O.B. Question

Picked up a NES R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) at Goodwill for $2.99. I cleaned the thing up and put some batteries in. Turned it on. Nothing happened. I don't have the carts for it yet (Gyromite and that Stack thing...) or the accessories. Can people with working Robs let me know if the led should come on and should it go through some type of power-up movement or does it need a signal from the TV jump into action. Just trying to confirm if it's DOA or if I need the games on to activate it.

    Thanks,

    E

The red light on the top of his head should come on if the batteries are in correctly. Further than that, though, you shall not go. ROB needs the screen flashes from the two compatable games in order to make any real 'movements'.

HAHAHA! I've had mine for the last 3 years, and I still haven't tested it! Looks like a battery burst in the gyro spinner in Gyromite, but it may still be salvagable... *ponders*

My memories of it from when I was a kid are that it breaks really easily...

The ROB self checks when you turn it on. It will move around *WZZZZZZ*

Forgive the Messy old Room of Doom.. this was years ago.

The ROB is not complete without the Gyro warning cards.
