Default Need help with Coleco and RF switches

I just bought a colecovision without an RF switch. Unfortunately, it appears that I do not know very much about RF switches, so I need some help. Will RF switches from other systems work with it, or does it have to be specialized? I tried my NES RF switch, which didnt work. Is it supposed to work? Because if it is, then it is the system which is messed up. Are there any stores that still sell compatible switches (or something like them?). The guy I bought it from said to check Radioshack, but I am not sure what to look for if there is a difference. Please Help.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Is it possible that the games I tried just didnt work? Is there any difference when you turn on the system even if the game doesnt work? Did that even make sense?

Calm down. Got Ratshack and get an F- Plug. They have them at AA as well: http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?cPath=21_28

The ColecoVision was pre- automatic RF switch. You used to have to get up of the floor (the controllers won't reach to the couch ) and flip a manual game switch!! And we liked it!!

F-plug gives a superior picture than any switch I've seen.

Thanks for the help! I got it working, then I went to a local store and bought all 25 of their colecovision games for a buck a piece...sweet deal considering four of the games are worth 15 bucks or more.

    Thanks again!
