    Default Slowdown on NCAA 2005

What's up with the slowdown on this game?

This doesn't happen every time but often when you hand the
ball off to the running back or when you catch a pass ...
the whole screen goes into slow motion.

It last about a second and then goes into regular speed

It's like playing a Matrix version of football

    What the F#$%?

DO you have the XBox version, like I do?

There's no real agreement on it. Some people claim that it's a small techinal issue with the game interacting with the XBox hardware. (All three versions have it, with the PS2 having the least). Others claim it was done on purpose -- they felt that college football was too fast in previous years editions and wanted to slow it down, to make it more real life. And college football IS slower then in the pro's.

It's not really a big deal for me anyway. What does it take, a few seconds before I can call the next play?

I don't know, I'm a stickler for this kinda shit, and I find it annoying. And they sure as hell better fix their servers as well before Madden ships ... or I'll take my $20 and go the ESPN route. ... Actually I probably won't, but I'll still be mad.

Well, I don't play any console games online, so I don't know anything about the servers.

And as I said, there's two schools of thoughts about it -- a small techinal issue with all the consoles, or done on purpose to simulate that college ball is SUSPSOED to be slower then the NFL. I don't find it annoying either way.

And I plan to get both ESPN NFL 2K5 and Madden 2005 both for XBox on release day anyway.

I noticed it during my first few games. It happened to me on option plays and running plays to the outside.

Some suggest(not me) it may have something to do with the age of your Xbox. I have new Halo version w/Phillips drive. I also tried it on my older Xbox with the Thomson drive and it does the same thing.

After you play a few games, it is hardly noticeable.
