Default Monday Morning MAME Club [7/19/04] - Liquid Kids

Even the best plans go awry from time to time -- I forgot to PM the next person on the Mame Club list. Never fear, fellow gamers, the show must go on! With that, I've pulled out a sugar coated platformer that anyone can pick up and enjoy!

Liquid Kids by TAITO is my MAME Club pick of the week!

Well, it doesn't break new ground and its really easy, but this one is a blast. My only real complaint is that you'll lose enemies who are still alive in the mass of water and take a cheap hit. Is the Japanese version any different? I only played the US version. Good pick.

It's a decent game, nothing really out of the norm, but a solid effort. The realy great platformers had already moved on to the consoles by the time this game arrived, so every solid arcade entry was a good one.

Yikes! I missed a few weeks in there... anyways, I've always liked Liquid Kids. I'm not sure how I first found this game... perhaps it was just another random download or something. Somehow, this game reminds me a lot of Bubble Bobble turned into a side-scroller. Good stuff, I'd give it a 8/10.

I'm pretty sure the only differences are language ones.

I'm glad you all are enjoying the pick. The waterfall attack is a bit unpredictable at times, but I think that's part of what makes this game so much fun!

I've been trying to get back into the spirit of the MAME Club, so I've played this game probably in half a dozen different sessions. I beat a couple of levels but had to use quite a few continues. The big rabbit boss was a pain until I figured out what to do.
