Nah not really. Masses of importing still goes on from the US and Japan for us people here blessed with RGB and Scart sockets

You're probably thinking of the fact Nintendo "persuaded" CEX to stop stocking imported goods. Tmk they are the only shop chain here that was doing it that has stopped. No one else blinked an eyelid and carried on doing as usual...

The nintendo / import thing is, they say import versions of PAL titles take away from UK sales (which they do!)

But i'm not waiting for 4 or 5 months for a new game to arrive on the PAL/GC when it is already released on the American/GC (Also there are alot of titles that will only get a US or JAP release and no PAL release )

Nintendo Europe are catchin up, with alot of release dates ( sometimes UK games are released a few weeks after there american cousins!.. which is good!) But what about the games that never get a UK / PAL release? Do we just not play them! Wrong..

Also Nintendo released a memo to all nintendo stockists! Ie.. High street stores! and smaller specialist video game stores, ie game, game station etc, etc and told then if they sold import GC or GBA titles they would be banned from buying from nintendo in the future!

Annnnnd......Nintendo didn't persuade CEX it was a national thing, CEX isn't really anthing special! anyways!

CEX is high priced! if YOU! value your £££, check around other places before using CEX.

Hey, man, you guys got Doshin the Giant... and I think you're getting Paper Mario 2 before us...

And on the GBA front, don't get me started... sure you all are ripped off on the GCN games, but you've got many GBA games that will never get US releases :/
    Egbert, I miss you...

Did Game/Gamestation ever stock imports? Certainly all the independents I know just carried on as normal with Nintendo imports. I only know CEX to have stopped.

English law must be different from US law. That type of coercion is surely an antitrust violation here.
