    Default Hardcore fun games

    Hi another post from me

well basically ill get straight to it.

I want to get into retro gaming cuz ps2 games have gone shit (well i dont mean as in not fun) its just that threy are too easy especially Vcity i can complete it in less then a day if i play it hardcore just cba

i want to know a decent retro console that has fun games like bubble bobble decent shmups and of course games like metal slug that are hardcore and fun at the same time

Metal slug 2 is probably the best game ive played in my life

    Once again i cant import/buy a neo geo/mod my ps2
with 27 quid err some thing 50 something dollars

Please advise me on the best console to buy

teh ones im thinking about it snes megadrive(genesis for the us ppl) and the saturn oh and maybe the dreamcast

    thanks

you would be suprised at what you can get for 27 quid you know....

my best bargains have been £3 for a N64 with 2 pads n 2 Games, Gameboy Colour for 20p!!!!!! and a megadrive for £1

If you wanna start off with some good retro stuff i would recommend getting a megadrive first... (thats my opinion)
as its fairly common and easy to find in the uk (where are you from by the way?)
but dont buy from shops, your best finds will ALWAYS be at car boot sales!
Megadrive Unboxed @Gamestation £20... unboxed megadrive at carboot sale £1.. see what i mean!

lemme see ... cheap, decent games .. good shooters ... classics like Bubble Bobble ... you'll be looking for a SEGA SATURN

You can pick up the Bubble Bobble / Rainbow Islands game for under a tenner, unlike the PS1 version where you have to fork out £30 - £40. Megadrive is good, but Rainbow Islands on that would set you back a good £45 .. and there is no Bubble Bobble.

The Saturn is the king of consoles for shooters. Plus for a (comparitively) moderate amount of money you can get an Action Replay and a copy of Metal Slug that is by far the best that you will get short of Neo Geo.

I have two sitting under my bed with nothing better to do. If you're ever in London, come pick one up ... it's got a French power lead but all you need is a standard hi-fi type power adapter that are ten a penny and away you go!

I'd go with a Megadrive or a NES. There aren't enough good shooters on the Snes IMHO. For the amount of money you have to spend a Dreamcast and Saturn aren't worth the bother.
