    Default Unidentified Atari controller?

I found a wierd Atari controller in a box of intellivision games at a yard sale. The thing is wedge-shaped and made of black painted wood.
The controller has 5 square buttons: 2 on the upper-left labeled 'left' and 'right', 2 on the opposite side labeled 'thrust' and 'fire', and 1 button centered below labeled 'hyperspace'.

It only plugs into the console(doesnt use batteries) and the plug says Atari on it.sorry no pic.

Im really curious about it and i dont own any atari console.Any info would be awsome...even though its probably nothing special.

Sounds like it was intended for use with Asteroids. Do the pins (the plug at the end) look wider than a standard 2600 controller?

Nice find! I'm with Sku, sounds like a homemade Asteroids controller. Without any pics it's difficult to shed any more light on the subject. Perhaps you could borrow a digital camera from a friend, or scan it in at your local library or school?

Joe has a small controller that sounds similar. I believe it's small at least. It was made for asteroids, but im sure that stuff just makes the game more difficult. Still a cool find!
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
