Hint Books for a Penny at EB

Ok here's how this works.

Every now and then (1-2 times per month usually) we at EB get a list of hint books that have been "Pennied Out"- their prices changed to $0.01 and their cost (what the store considers it's "worth") to $0.00. What that means is we are supposed to destroy them.

Depending on the manager or the associates that are working that day, some stores are willing to either sell them at the penny price or just give them away if you ask nice. Technically we aren't supposed to because it's against policy to give anything free to our customers as "promotional" items aside from the official stuff (like DVD's with preorders, etc.)

Best bet to grab one of these is to ask REALLY nice if they have any sitting around. Another way to do it would be to specifically ask for a certain hint book, and hopefully they'll say "Yeah, we do and it's only a penny!"

I went to the ebgames in Fairfield, CA and grabbed a Super Mario Advance guide for a penny, so you should definitely check this out. they hadnt even taken it off the shelf.
