Default Stupid Marvel vs. Capcom 2 question

I just got this game for Xbox the other day and really dig it so far, but I'm sick of playing the game with purple Dhalsims, white Hulks, and pink Ryus. Is there any way of changing the frickin color of the characters I'm playing with, or am I stuck with them? Couldn't find any info about it in the manual.

Don't you just press different buttons for different colours? Thats how you do it in most other fighting games.

By playing the game, you earn experience points. Those points can be used to purchase such 'extras' and additional colours and fighters.

Yeah norkusa, I've been playing this game since 2000, way too long. On the character select screen just used different buttons to select different colors. You do have to unlock some colors, but using lk, picks white for ryu and so on.

When you unlock sentenil us RH to pick him.

BTW, if you need some tutorials to the game, check my site out in my link.

Thanks for the tips guys. I actually downloaded a MvC2 save via Action Replay that has everything unlocked, so unlocking colors isn't an issue. I guess I just have to figure out how to select them. The aggravating thing is that I can't tell which color I'm getting in the character select screen...I have to wait until the match actually starts to see how fruity my fighter looks.

I really need a guide for this game. I'll be sure to check out your site for those tutorials, Balloon Fight.

I also have no idea how to use the unlocked colors for the charaters.

I currently have the DC Version (for sale/trade, too ) and to pick the alternate costumes you can either press (or hold) the L or R button then select your character so maybe it's the same on the PS2/Xbox?

I'm assuming it'd just be L/R on the Xbox because it is almost the same controller as the DC pad, but PS2's configuration could either be L1/L2 or R1/R2. Anyone wanna try that out? Then whether that worked or not, you could just map out a chart stating what costume you get with each button combination.

I already tried using the L & R Xbox triggers and all it does is select whatever is on the screen (they do the same as the X,Y,A,B buttons).

Maybe it's two buttons at once? Like pressing jab and weak kick or something like that. Again i'm only guessing here.

I have the guide for the dreamcast game in my room i'll go check out what it says about the colors.

Norkusa: I REALLY do not recommend the guide for this game. I'd say either read my Tutorials (you can request characters if you want, but I just did tutorials on the 4 best characters in the game) or go to www.shoryuken.com and go to the forums section and the MvC2 strategy section.

Also the teams that I use are (considered the best in the game without a doubt):

    Storm/Sent/Capcom
    Storm/Sent/Cyke
    Mag/Storm/Psy
    Mag/Cable/Sent
    Storm/Sent/Cable

If you have any questions norkusa just ask.

They work together so well, basically. captain Commando isn't great on point, but his anti air assist is VERY useful for the other two characters, so by putting him last, you essentially give yourself a good chance of never having to pull the man out. That's just an example.

I'm not to knowledgeable on MvC2, but generally speaking, the tiers of the game are based more on overall teams, then on individual characters.

Cable: Three AHVBs (air hyper viper beam specials) in a row basically kills. He grounds people with his jumping fierce punch and his grenades.

Storm: EXTREMELY fast, great combos, runaway, hail storm.

    Magneto: Cross-up/infinite king.

    Sentinel: Just too good.
