yes it does. Since the last honest bid befor yours was 890-970 i would only do that, screw the 1200.
My life and perception has changed, but my principals are the same.
Are they willing to use an Escrow service, or something similar?
That's the only way I'd be willing to go for it (in the highly unlikely situation that I have £1K to blow on a NES game )
I'd just email player2 and ask him what happened. If he says he just decided not to get it since he already has one (or more) then you should go for it. I was expecting it to go much higher than a measly $2,200 (which is a lot, but not for a gold nwc).
I don't know this player2 guy. Anyone here have his email or know him personally. I'd love to hear the whole story on what happened.

Click on his name in the auction. Then click contact member.Originally Posted by Buyatari
hmm..that player 2 guy has bought some pretty hefty stuff. Damn.
I could be wrong, but isn't he the guy that collects NWCs?Originally Posted by -hellvin-
Well we didn't have a transaction together. Is it still possible? And if it is possible I don't think I can ask him about another Ebay member through eBay. Isn't that against the policyClick on his name in the auction. Then click contact member.
I have no idea who he is. I don't know too much about NWC buyers. Looks like it could be him.Originally Posted by Daria
Hmm - the seller has been around a while, often seems to get his hands on the same deals that I do ... it's been a constant battle to beat him to market with stuff sometimes. He's been shifting retro games by the truck load for a while now. I know a couple of people who have bought from him, with no problems. No-one who spent that kind of money in one go though .. but he seems a pretty solid seller to me.

It's only against ebay policy to contact a buyer and attempt to set up off ebay deals with them.Originally Posted by Buyatari
And I can click on his name to email him, so I would assume you can as well. (:
Adam:
I would find this VERY fishy. Player 2 owns at least 2 NWC's (plus he traded one to portnoyd, so he's had at least 3) and is a known buyer of them. I highly doubt he would bail out of this one. He actually was a member here for a while. Remember this thread:

The guy is a VERY serious collector. My advice to you, is proceed with caution.

I think I'll pass on this one.
That overseas issue of me not being able to track down the seller is just the icing on the cake.
Besides I just bought an Odyssey 3 !!!
!@!@! YAY !@!@!
I am writing to send buyatari a notice not to proceed with the purchase of the NWC cart. It's a scam. I paid for the cart and recieved a package of type-writer paper (so that I would sign for the package and he would have a record of me recieving it). A fairly common ebay scam. Fortunately, I opened the package at the post office, and the postmaster has verified it's contents (or lack of). With his second chance offer to buyatari, I have been informed that this case will reach a prosecutable level in his country . I would appreciate it if buyatari could forward to me a copy of the second chance notice to player2@hiwaay.net . It is not necessary that I have it to proceed (ebay will supply it...and has offered assistance in this prosecution), but I would like an "original copy" if it's no trouble. I've been screwed many times, but I can get this guy...even overseas! And yes, I am a very motivated NES collector and proud gamestore owner...and I am the one who regretably stirred up the trouble a few months ago. I come to this site everyday, but I certainly won't get off into another rant....I got slammed that time!! . Take care...and have fun.

Good move checking out the package.
But what was in it?
And what is EBay going to do? Did you get your money back?

I also had a second chance offer on this...
this case is so weird.....why would a 1300+ feedback seller scam someone?
Isnt there a posibility someone opened the package and stole the game in the mail???
It had plain typewriter paper in the package(about a hundred sheets). He didn't even put in a cheap cart to make it "feel" like it should....that's why I opened it. I'd like to make it appear as though I was smart enough to have thought to open it to protect my butt, but I thought maybe it was a catalog from his store, and I was just going to toss it. I only recieved the package earlier today (yesterday), so I have done little to resolve it except to explore my options and document the problem. I put a couple of my employees ( the computer online genious ones) on it and I have found that I can retain civil legal representation in his country (for a few hundred dollars) and he/she can pursue the problem on my behalf. But, most importantly, I have reached the necessary threshhold for criminal prosecution (due to the package being documented and his 2nd chance offer to buyatari....proving intent). That won't cost a dime, and ebay will provide all the necessary info in both countries to make this happen. "we take these issues very seriously and always assist in purging our business of criminal activity". The large dollar amount makes it a serious crime in his country ( I don't know if they call them felonies there). It's odd...he has a great rating as a power-seller, yet chose to do this. Regardless, the guy is not only a thief, but a fool. He provided every tool necessary to prove his guilt . And I fortunately (not bragging) have the financial resources to pursue a result. I have vacationed in France and Australia. I may be vacationing in the UK early next year! . (this would also make the vacation tax-deductable )This is a very fresh problem, so I may have a long time to wait (or he may get smart and just end this) for a result, but I have waited for restitution from shoplifters (after jail) for up to two years. I have learned patience with the legal system...and am in no hurry. I hope to still wind up with the cart...if it exists, rather than the money. The price was phenominal. This one is going to be personal, though....I really love NWC carts!! I just wanted to chime in so that buyatari didn't find himself off in a trick-bag. Have a good day.Originally Posted by SoulBlazer
