Default Have You Ever Given Any Games to a Thrift Store?

Has anyone else out there ever given any games or systems to a thrift store or Value Villiage etc? Include things from when you weren't collecting.

I have given the local thrift store a couple old Sierra PC games. They were complete and in nice shape. I just got tired of having them around and they were only worth a few bucks on eBay so I donated them. I also, just recently, got rid of some Vic 20 tape drive software. Most of it was instructional stuff. There were a few games but nothing major. No, Ultima Escape From Mt. whatever.

back when I lived and breathed the hunt in the wild I would find something cool about once a month and would stop in every other day.

nothing rare.. think my best finds were a FFIII, Atari 2600+20 good games all mint, 5 common SMS games and a complete boxed VIC20 and who knows how many .50 cent NES carts.

Definitely. Some stuff is just plain worthless. I put stuff in the B&S forum, and if no one wants it, I get it out of here. If I can sell it on eBay great, but if it has no value on ebay either then what choice do I have?

Every so often I do thrifty runs but never once found anything worthwhile...may be 2 or 3 loose nes carts.....but anyways...they have so many of my old clothes......and toys...that my parents donated to them....so that counts for somethin...it was my stuff after all

My wife seriously hasn't thrown out a piece of clothing she's owned since middle school... it's been piling up. Earlier in the summer I finally convinced her to go through it all....

14 giant garbage bags full of clothing donated...

Never donated a game tho hehe

i used to community service for a thrift store and the people would drop stuff of in the back and we would have to go through it surprisingly they throw a lot of stuff a way they threw a jewelrey box full of jewelry away because the box was locked they threw a few nes games away cause some of the cartridges where dirty they also threw some computers away cause they where to old its kinda stupid but oh well ive actually given a few things to the thrift store things like clothes toys and extra mario/duck hunt carts

Yes - usually TRS-80 games or really common 2600 games.

    *** Sniff *** i love those games...

Seriously, and not to pour salt in the wound, you'll probably be pretty amazed at how much classic complete Adventure games can go for (particuarlly LucasArts and Sierra) on eBay. The Sierra collector editions routinely get over 100 bucks.

But no, no games for charity. We've given lots of other items however; especially old clothes.
