Odd Glitch in FF7 with Red XIII

my best friend found this in both GH and original copies of Final Fantasy 7 since he owns both.

It only happens when i scroll down RED XIII equip list.
when i get past the escort guard on his list the game freezes for a moment...sometimes it will recover but in funny lines and gibberish...when i equip the escort gaurd and scroll up it freezes on another item and does the same thing...so far if i just hit the L 1 button to skip it it doesnt seem to effect it...but i havent found anyone mention a glitch like that... as he claims


Note: He is testing both verisons of the game on a PSOne model and he thinks it could be that. Anyone else run into this odd problem?

Well all I can say is that I have never had FF7 freeze up on me, and I use Red XIII throughout the game, whenever possible. I'm sure that I have scrolled though his equip list many times.

Update: He just tested it on a PS2 and it runs fine now...

Seems to be the Smaller PSOne model could be the problem, yet let's other games run smoothly

I had a copy of it and mine froze in certain spots and I was using a PS2. It was a GH copy, and someone told me that a batch of the games have a part were the game is slightly off alignment so it freezes.

I played recently FF VII in a new, smaller PSone with Red XIII in my team most of the game and nothing strange happened. Maybe it's just a bad batch of CDs.

if it is an actual glitch in the game itself, you can always get it posted at brokengames.com

it is kind of cool to have one of the glitches you found in a game posted, even though any glitch you submit will get posted. check out burnout 2 for ps2, yeah, i posted that glitch.

Hmm...this never occured when I played through it. I never used Red XIII though.

I used RED all the time, but I have a copy from the original US run of the game, bought it when it first came out.
