    There are a lot of different variables to look at. What kind of walls is your wireless stuff going through? My dad has a lot of trouble with his, because he has some of that 70's style "foil" wallpaper in his kitchen -- it totally kills wireless access (not only that -- televisions, radios, and cordless phones have trouble in there as well; talk about a cheap Tempest setup! )

    If you can only get 10ft of reception without any interference, you've got an equipment problem there somewhere. With my router upstairs, I can get wireless access anywhere in my house and in most of my backyard.

    I can also get 2 neighbors' access points as well ...

    Does this adapter work with just a few or all of GBA's games?

    Has anyone tested how accurate it really is, signal wise?

    Damn that sucks...I know the upcoming Dr. Mario re-release will use it...but I wonder why Nintendo promotes this as a regular link cable substitute?

    thats what it says only if the game recognizes it. and it says if you have have clear line 10 feet max, thats pretty dumb. the more people the more they want you in circle so your adapter can see everyones.

    meh.... i managed to get ballbasaur to level 8. and picked up 5 other pokemon.. woooo i am masta

    I've tested the Pokemon game from like 5 feet and Ice Climber (using 1 cart) from like 5 also... it works well enough for me.

    Only 10 feet? I wonder what kind of wireless technology they're using for it?

    Infrared = 3 feet
    Bluetooth = 33 feet
    802.11a = 150 feet
    802.11b = 300 feet
    802.11g = 300 feet

    There are no other wireless standards yet, so unless they've developed a new one, it should be one of these. I'd suspect Bluetooth for something like that, so it should be a bit more than just 10 feet. Maybe that's just what the optimal range is. But if 10 feet is the max, then it must be either a new technology, or a propriatary standard of an existing technology. And again, I would suspect a revised version of Bluetooth for something like this. That sort of device is exactly what the standard was created for, so that's my $.02 on the topic. I'm going to tech school for this kinda stuff, so I know what I'm talking about. The only way that you'd ever get 100 yards to a mile range would be if it was based on cellular technology, like the Ngage.

    I'm not surprised at all at the range of it. It's a wireless adapter on a handheld gaming system, they are not working with a high level of power or a lot of room here, and they obviously want to keep the cost of the thing down, so extremely advanced tech isn't going to be found, i assume.

    Ten feet seems fine to me. Better than a 3 foot link cable.

    Actually, the new GBA's are supposed to have a really good wireless range.

    I've been really impressed with Fire Red so far. The addition of the "abilities" to the species (yeah, they had that on Sapphire but I never got that game - have it now) really adds a lot to the strategy.

    On the wireless thing - what I really want to know is how anybody can fit 40 people into a circle with a radius of 5' (10' diameter) so that they can all be in the Union Room at once. My friend also told me that they were selling it separate from FR/LG for $20 (!) or so.

    There's also a rumor that for FR/LG the Aurora and Mystery tickets (as long as a "Mystery Event" which may contain Mew or Celebi) will be transferred to your pak via the wireless connection. Once you have the "Mystery Event" or "Gift," you can share it with as many people as you want - or so I hear.

    Maybe they'll be giving out one of these at the Toys R Us event on the 25th in the morning...make sure you get enough badges to unlock the Mystery Gift option by then! Then choose LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL as your profile. That's what I hear, at any rate. I don't have enough badges yet for it to work.
    You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?

    I'd like to start pokemon green, but cant get motivated with megaman zero 3 getting in the way.

    I wonder if there will be any sort of downside to using the wireless adaptor with Pokemon Green/Red on a flash card...hypothetically.

    the ngage has the idea , it is just too bad it cost way too damn much. it would be cool to go cellular with some handheld games. i don't care what anybody says, those new ngage commercials are funny.
