The Akuma and Ryu ones. The packaging for them is real slick.
niiiiice
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
Yessir, that is one pretty box, shame it cost about 5 bucks to roll out and 85% of the populace who gets it will throw the packaging away.
I preordered a Ken controller from gamestop.com, and I've gotten close to 7 emails since then explaining that the release date keeps getting pushed back. I just got one today stating that the new release date is now 9/16/04. The release date started in early August and it's been pushed back so many times, we're in the middle of September now. What gives? Especially since you can already find them in stores.
BTW, that box is the pinnacle of sweetness.

BEST BOX ART FOR CONTROLLER EVER. IMHO
I second that!Originally Posted by GameNinja

Do you think these will be rare / hard to find down the road?
What is the consensus among the early adopters regarding the quality of the actual controller?
I picked up the Akuma one today (thanks for the tip! My Ken & Ryu should hopefully be in somtime next week from eBgames.com. Need all of the shotokan guys. Bring on Dan!) and I must say that it has an interesting feel (big, yet strangely light like the original Genesis 3 Button) and a decent pad that is soft on the thumb while still being a well defined cross. It is definitely loose enough that the various circlular motions are comfortable, yet not so loose that it causes a problem with timing. Not as majestic as the Saturn pad, but pretty good and certainly worthy. I was so worried about the pad that I almost didn't preorder. I've had some bad experiences with third party controllers not made by ASCII or Hori (StormChaser... <shiver>) My only two gripes are that A) the Punch & Kick buttons, while a good size, need to be a bit more defined, and B) the start and select would be so much cooler if they were rubberized like on the Dual Shock. All in all, nothing to really complain about. Picking nits.
A special note must be made about the art. Instead of being incredibly cheesy like most of the other theme controllers, it is very appropriate and, I daresay, enhances the experience. Lenticular art is always welcome in my book. The aforementioned box is also a display box with a magnetic lid and little certificate of authenticity inside. Over the top, but incredibly cool.
I can't believe we got something this cool in the US.
I just picked up the Ryu controller from Gamerush last night. I couldn't wait 'till 2005 for the Xbox version of Anniversary to come out, so I traded in MLB 2005, Fight Night, and Secret Weapons Over Normandy and got the the game, controller, and strategy guide for $1.27.
Anyone know if Xbox versions of these controllers are going to come out? I haven't heard anything about them yet.
The box arts are from variant covers of the comic books. Good stuff.
I haven't even tried out the controller yet, I'm too hooked on Burnout 3 right now.
I think capcom announced somewhere that they were bringing out xbox versions too, and an xbox stick. I'm really waiting for that stuff, but I couldn't pass up on the Akuma one.
Butta - was this Blockbuster you got the Akuma at a Gamerush store or just a normal Blockbuster?

I'll throw my answer in there. Mine was at a large Blockbuster, but not one with a Gamerush. I live in NJ though, so there is no Gamerush as of yet. The smaller Blockbuster close to my home was a no-go though.
any of you folks planning on getting all 10?

looks like another Ken, Ryu, Guile, Sagat, Sakura, & Bison are coming
I might get one of these just to use as my 'Fighting Game' controller. I love Street Fighter, but I am terrible at the games. (I rented the Aniversery Collection, even though I have about 3 different SF2's as it is) And I dont plan on buying the game, but the controllers will work very nicely with a few other fighters I have (Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 being the main focus)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Number 1 in the 'hood g!
I called up every Blockbuster in my area and only one "corporate" store had anything - 3 Akumas. Obviously, I got one. Classiest release I've seen in a while. Now I just need to find the others...Originally Posted by buttasuperb

My blockbuster is running a "trade 2 accessories, get 25% off any accessory" deal...I may have to take some of these PSone controllers up there and see if they'll take em.
