Carnival? I thought it was called X2 #Reload? Anyway, yeah, I picked it up too. After all the great reviews it got and the $20 price tag, how could you *not* pick it up?
I never played GG before, so I imagine I'll be absolutely terrible at first. If anyone want's to play me though, my GT is Norkusa.
BTW, what is everyone using to play this game with? Regular Xbox controllers? I really need a joystick for this but can't find any.

I would actually like to find a nice street fighter style pad to play with or some sort of joystick to this day I still use the old original 20 pound pads lol.
Thanks
Pelican real arcade sticks aren't bad, though the default parts are a little iffy, they can be easily replaced if they bug you that much.Originally Posted by norkusa

Guilty Gear rocks! Unfortunately, I don't own GG X or GG X2 yet, but I do own the original GG on Playstation. I'm surprised it's not a more popular series.
Do you know what kind of parts can be swapped with this stick? Is there a specific brand needed? I have a Pelican Real Arcade stick for PS2 but the joystick & buttons on it are *very* stiff. I've wanted to replace them for the longest time but I have no idea which parts are compatible with them.Originally Posted by ubersaurus
From what I understand you can just use standard arcade parts, Happs, and whatnot. There's a guide on shoryuken.com's forums in the hardware section, if I remember.

When you play on Xbox Live is there alot of lag? Just wondering because ive never played a fighting game online
I've heard reloaded has noticeable lag on anything less then an excellent connection.
Just a heads up.

it's not lag really, at least not how it is in cvs2.
instead of playing fine and getting real slow at times, it just plays kinda slow the whole time. i played 12 matches against someone and it only lagged once for a second or two where it slowed from the regular pace. just seems like everything is slightly off or something. kinda hard to describe.
First time I have actually played a Guilty Gear game for longer than an hour. Never had the chance before. This game is most excellent. Combos system is nice and it is easy enought to pick up.
This game is a STEAL at 19.99
yeah guilty gear is one of the best 2D fighting series ever made....and i notice its really only popular to the hardcore 2D fighting fans who can look aside from capcom games...but also i notice that guilty gear gets alot of props in the anime community, all the conventions ive been too had alot of guilty gear stuff
Street Fighter, KoF, Guilty Gear, Sam Sho, Darkstalkers...MvC and CvS if you want to include crossovers...
What other GOOD 2-D series are there? I mean, widely categorized as being good, not one that you think is great but everyone else shits on.
Darkstalkers might be stretching it...
haha GG > Dorkstalkers because you can actually make out their designs due to high rez vs. ultra low pancake rez.Originally Posted by buttasuperb

the thing i like about the gg series is that it is as fast or slow as you want it to be. 2 newbs playing the game will make it look like a samurai showdown clone, but get 2 medium to advanced people, and holy hell, the game gets fast. i mean just fast. once you get good at dashing it gets insane.
I couldn't help myself, so I went out & bought it today. After I practice up a bit, I'll be online to get my ass whacked.
