i am almost 21 now, and i had them from when i was a young kid, so i guess you can figure it out from there. if i saw pictures i could tell you if i had that specific toy.

at the end of the auction, the total it ended at was $455
i also sold a large collection of heman toys for $400
and a large lot of ghostbuster toys for $275

Nice money for you. It's most likely you had the Gen 1 TF toys judging from the fact that you also sold He-Man and "Real" Ghostbusters toy lots as well.

See what the 'big kids' are buying today? Their childhood! (I've contributed to that and that's why I have a whole shelf devoted to my beloved "Voltron" collection)

Can you imagine when the kids that are 5-10 yrs old today become a part of society, start working jobs and eventually get bitten by the nostalgia bug?

Us 'old' folks who are saving their current toys now (Stuff like Pokemon, Power Rangers, BeyBlade, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.) will be able to sell it back to them when they start makin' dough!

That's why I'm holding on to all of my comic-book related action figures from the early 1990's. (mostly Marvel stuff like X-Men)

Only 15-20 years left to hold onto this stuff. *sighs*

yea, the guy that bought the he-man stuff was a "big kid"....he told me that he was blowing most, if not all, of his income tax refund check on these toys...consider with the $100 shipping he spent $500 on a bunch of pieces of plastic and rubber...pretty crazy

    SegaAges,

You definitely have a good point there.

I'll use the guy from Germany as backup.

Well, to each their own, that's what I say.

If you think about it, games and systems are nothing more than hunks of plastic mixed with silicon and metal. Although they are damn fun to play, they do still require an electrical outlet, a TV, software, the correct A/V cables and a controller. Plus, they cost a hell of a lot more to maintain when you 'collect' them.

I think we have the more expensive hobby. I'm not ashamed of it though.

Dude.... you were the winner?! You were the person that won the special prize? I wanted to beat you down for it!!! (yes I went to the Metreon... I live in the city!)

I was drooling when they showed that item.... congrats on the win....

and on all that money you'll be making from selling it.

Oops! The way you all were talking.. I assumed it was over.. just noticed it wasn't!

Bud.. if I were you.. and you could get the guy in Germany to wire you the money.. I'd sell it in a heartbeat if he was serious.

But now that someone's revealed your reserve.. it could be him for all you know.. or he could bid and try to get it cheaper.

    Good luck again.. any way.

I just got a feeling you better put a couple hundred in your bank account for eBay right now.. because they won't give a sh*t whether you get paid or not.. trust me.

By the time you file an NPB and try to recoup your fees.. they'll be dunning you for the money anyway.

A couple hundred in the bank to cover fees? Is that because fees on a $1500 item tally up to.....GasP $45 (estimate) and when the price goes higher, the fee goes down. So....if it ended at $4k then you're looking at fees around $70-$100.

Anyways, as far as NPB's go...some people just don't know at all. Don't speculate if you've never sold a high end item. On collectibles, the collector always wins because nobody else is crazy enough to drop the dough on it. The collector also ALWAYS pays. I've had more trouble selling an external hard drive for $80 than selling a sealed nintendo game for $200. The sealed game is paid for instantly and the hard drive sits awaiting payment.

Also....why is it showing the bid amount? I'm confused....(in bid history)

Thanks for the well wishing, scorch56.

It's true that Ebay doesn't give a damn about whether or not you get paid or not, so I will be ready to pay for the fees if need be.
