Super Smash Borthers Melee. I got it when it first came out, and I still play it... a lot.

YES! Guilty Gear X2 comes in a very close second though...they swap almost every day.

    Yea, but it's horribly unbalanced.

At top tiers, yes, but so is Guilty Gear X2 and Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. (Sol Badguy anyone, what about gimped characters like Twelve and Q)?

For the normal fighting game aficionado, the play balance is more than satisfactory.

Hey hey, Q is not gimp buddy...I know crazy people who have mastered that ironed mask man...and I don't like to brag, but I play a mean Twelve

I always work with what I got and pull off a miracle
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Let me rephrase. Gimped isn't the right word, more like balance compromised. I've never seen Q or Twelve successfully played against a strong Dudley or Ken.

But, I'll grant, with the beauty of SFIII's parry system, it's hard to note any character as gimped.

True, it does seem impossible, but with the parrying system, I've seen some crazy stuff pulled off

    Soul Calibur

(I just realized I wasn't the first to say it. I knew that had to be a mistake!)

I'm a big fan of SF2 Turbo. But i like Marvel Vs. Xmen, and Street Fighter Alpha.

I can say I'm not a fan of Virtua Fighter gamers or Fighter's Mega Mix. Didn't really like Art of Fighting either. Sorry Virtua Fighter Fans.

    UMK 3 (Genesis)
    Super Smash Bros. Melee
    MvC2 (DC)
Also like Soul Calibur 2(Xbox), MK DA(PS2), Virtua Fighter 4(PS2).

Hopefully in a few more weeks i can put Mortal Kombat: Deception at the top of my list.
I am surprized none of the Mortal Kombat series showed up.

    No, there is a reason

Just kidding, they're just not my cup of tea. I just feel like I'm controlling a puppet when I play it, instead of controlling a bad-ass fighting machine if that makes any sense.

What's with the no love for the MK series? Here are a couple of my favorites:

    Mortal Kombat 2 (Genesis)
    Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PS2)
    Power Stone 2 (DC)

I guess I'm just a sucker for sequels.

marvel super heroes vs. street fighter is my choice for now, but since im a SNK whore, it will eventually change to a neogeo title.

Maybe it's because Mortal Kombat is horrible.

Well if Super Smash Brothers for the GAMECUBE counts I guess I would pick it. But Soul Calibur for the DC comes in pretty much first as well, for me.
