Default The Game King Handheld Inside and Out!

Get ready for the Game King! Haven't heard of it? Well now you have!

What do you get when you take an original Game Boy, give it a poorer refresh rate than the game gear, divide the resolution by about four, and stick it in a Game Boy Advance-rip off case? The Game King!

What do you get when you port old NES games to the 48x32x4 shade resolution of the Game King and mix in some great "Engrish"? Pure hiliarity!

I've reverse engineered a bunch of it and built a video capture device, so not only could I play the thing like a Super Game Boy, but I could also take screen shots and review the games for you all!

My new Game King site will fill you with game reviews, and hardware information so you techies can mod your Game Kings too!

Somebody else alluded to the fact that the games were ports (of a sort) of NES games, but now I know for sure!

Oh, and I'm pretty sure everybody in Hong Kong knows about '42 and '43, seeing how they were fighting the Japanese at the time, themselves. Heh. They changed the names for good reason!

By the way, it amazes me that you reverse engineered the carts and the chips. Wow! So much for saying a Game.com emulator can't be done, eh? :D

I was wondering the same thing, myself.

(But, then again, I liked the Game.com, too)

Bah! Bah I say. I found that site. While the price looks good initially, it ends up being too much. 9 pounds, plus 8 pounds shipping = around $30US. And that's just for the unit, no games. Too much for that. I was hoping there would be a US importer, but I've been unable to find one.

I bought one, and all the games. For $55 total I'm getting a new system and 13 new games. It seems worth it to me. Plus I'm curious.

I got mine from http://www.success-hk.com. Yep, it's about $55 with shipping, but I completely feel it to be worth it as well. It's a brand new boxed system with 13 brand new boxed cartridges (plus the three built in). Buying a complete collection brand new for $55 seems pretty good to me. The laughs you'll get from it are worth the cost of the shipping, so it's only about $30, heh!

Yeah, success.hk's pricing is MUCH better. I'd go with that.

well i guess as soon as i can afford it i am getting one of these. i guess that 1 website said there are only 13 known games out (not including the built-in ones), which means a complete, entire collection for $55.

it is just too bad i didn't act on the pokemon mini when the set was going for 9.99, now i want 1 of those too
