Default Some paparazzi pics from Superauctions - Kalamzoo, MI

Well, I got up way to early on a Saturday and dragged a few friends downstate to the Superauctions in Kalamazoo. I took a bunch of pics and thought I'd share.

Paparazzi you ask? You see, you're supposed to get permission to take photographs. Why? I dunno. Too bad, I took a bunch anyway. Some of them are blurry, but when you're trying to be discreet, nothing gives you away like a camera flash.

So, take a look RIGHT HERE!

    A few noteworthy pics:

IMG_3524 - Cocktail cabs, including 'The Pit'.

IMG_3538 - If I had to bid on 5 games, and they had to be lined up in a row, it would be these 5 (APB, Asteroids Deluxe, Robotron, Rastan, Star Castle)

IMG_3545 - While bidding was going on at the other end of the hall, this kid was rifling through all the coin boxes looking for money.

IMG_3550 - NFL Blitz with N64 memory card slot. Neat.

I didn't realize anybody from DP was going! I would have made a point to say hi at the least. I had my Boston hat on. In picture 3546 my brother is holding a pop, while I've got my hands in my pockets and my face got cut off screen. I ended up only getting a project Double Dragon for $190 after fees. I think thats it near the end in 3527, but I can't tell.

I distinctally remember hearing the crazy auctioneer guy say something about "if he takes any more pictures go send him on his way". I didn't think anybody had a camera. I came with mine, but I asked first. I drove like 3 hours to get there, I didn't want to break their rules.

Overall this auction had more buyers then sellers, causing pretty much everything to go for too much. I wanted the Jam TE, but it immediately went for more than I wanted to spend. The best deals of the auction were the Gauntlet 2 that needed a little work for I believe $475, and Pete Mathis's Spiderman that only ended up going for $225. I've been kicking myself ever since the bidding on that one ended, I don't know where the hell I was on that one.

I know of at least one person who was taking down results, so I'll be sure to post them here for everyone.

Hey that's cool, I didn't know anybody was going either. I was the dude with the black shirt, dark-green shorts, glasses... you know, one of the 4% of attendees that didn't look like some weird redneck.

Heh... After casually taking a bunch of pics, someone told me to ask him for permission (while the auction was running). I replied with "uh... He's seems preoccupied at the moment with the whole auctioning-thing, y'know", but they appeard dumbfounded by my statement. They should consider posting their photography policy on their website.

There was one Blitz 2000, and I think 2 Blitz '99. All of them had the N64 memory card thing. All went for around $400 if I remember correctly.

These are from the newsgroup. I don't have time to make comments on any of these, but I'll be sure to edit this post later. The later stuff has dashes because most people left, including Pete, who took all these down.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to make it but it also looks like I didn't miss out on anything terribly too interesting though.

Thanks for posting the pics and list
