Default How AES perfect was the Saturn release of Metal Slug?

Assuming you had the 4MB expansion, of course. Would you say it was 100% accurate? Or was there the occasional animation cut?

    Thanks in advance.

Too lazy to probably ever finish up my older games, but collection funtime.

Noooooooooo way. I downloaded the import and the loading times are just as bad as the neo geo cd I had. Pretty much exact. I also remember there being a lot of slowdown and just general crappiness in the port. I haven't played it in a long time though. Once the xbox was modded I never cared about playing the neo on anything else ;D. Not even a Neo.

Yeah I payed around 60 bucks for the import so I guess I have a bit of a bias.
The game has pretty slow loading times, but nothing you shoudn't be used to from the ol' Saturn.

I have the AES version, and the saturn version, and the 4MB cart, and a modded Xbox I can play the rom on. All systems connected to same stereo and TV.

    1) AES version - superior in every way. Perfect sound perfect video (modded video out AES), no censorship due to Uni BIOS mod.

    2) Saturn version- pretty damned good! Some missing frames of animation. Of all the ports I've seen, this one is close! Sounds and looks good. Most ports have crappy downsampled sound, but this one is decent.

    3) Rom on da 'Box- Looks decent. I find emulation sound kinda flat, and that's thru the same stereo system my AES and Saturn are connected too. the sound mixing always seems a tad off, some sounds too loud, some too quite. Isolated sounds harder to pick out of the morass IMO. No censorship of course. Video filters suck diddly uck Flanders.

    4) PS1 version - sucks. Missing animations. Censorship. Badly compressed sound. The 'heart' of the game is intact (it's not as bad a port as 2600 Pac Man or anything), but the gloss is all gone. Yuck.

    All my opinion.

thought Metal Slug X JPN on PS wasn't too bad although I still prefer Saturn MS.

    cheers
