Godzilla owned by .... Atari?!?

Atari Unleashes Godzilla.com

Atari has launched Godzilla.com, the official Web site for Godzilla: Save The Earth, the upcoming online-enabled monster-on-monster fighting game for Xbox and PlayStation2, the company announced. The Web site, designed and created by Trademark 5150, contains game-related information, screenshots and movies from the upcoming title, and also serves as the hub for the worldwide Godzilla fan base.

Godzilla.com will also feature original footage, a new 90-second official trailer and an online store where fans can preorder the game. The site will serve as a central hub of information for all worldwide Godzilla merchandise and products from a variety of licensees including Toho Co., Bandai and Columbia Tri-Star. Godzilla: Save The Earth ships to retail stores Nov. 2.

So, I went to www.godzilla.com and - sure enough - it was a site for this game. Question: How does Toho NOT have the rights to this sewn up all ready?!? If any company would have the domain "godzilla.com" in their pocket years ago, I would've assumed it'd be Toho!

toho might own godzilla.co.jp....not all japanese care about .coms...since a majority of their sites are .co.jp

Atari owns the rights to Godzilla's video game realm, and I guess if toho isn't using godzilla.com, then they may as well do it.

All that matters, is that this game has Rodan. And as we all know, Rodan is awesome.

There was Gamera game. Import PS One and it was a pretty good on-rails shooter. If you have the means, check it out.

Rodan totally rules over Mothra. I never have cared for Mothra or Battra. My #1 favorite is King Ghidorah, #2 is Rodan, #3 is Godzilla, and nobody else is anyone that I really root for, except the mecha versions of my favorites. I do like most of the other kaiju though, except for Mothra & Battra, they suck.
