i put no simply for the fact that i plan on eventually making money from making games, and there is no money in making 2600 games. i will be doing next gens, so why would i do old school 2600 games?

see, i have a real reason for not wanting to do it (you can't practice 3d-modeling much on a 2600).

Although I have never made one myself, I hope very much that both original and hacked Atari games will continue to see the light of day.
