Default Great game storage bins on sale

Just thought I would pass this along. I bought today at walmart some great game storage bins. They are rubbermaid 31 qt with snap lock lid. It fit 81 Nes games perfectly and the best part is they are on clearance for $1.50!!

If you don't find them in the isle look around. I found 25 of them stuck in the gardening section on the shelf. I bought every one of them. Can't beat the price especially for rubbermaid brand. Also they are see through so you can see what is in them. Happy hunting!!

Now, are these actually SQUARE on the inside? I have some bins but they round on the edges and taper on the sides (as far too many do), are these properly rectangular?

They are not perfectly rectangular, but close. You will have to check for yourself, but I am sure at that price, you can find a use for them. As you can see in the photo, they are great for NES games.

From the looks of the picture the sides are straight and about a half an inch from the bottom of the box it pushes out approx. another 1/4 of an inch.

The games look kinda jumbled in there though. Does the front and back of the box make a small arc too?

I'm actually happy with these 3 drawer tubs I got at K-Mart earlier this year when they were on sale. (Excuse the mess in the pic, I had some my systems out to test at recent thrift store find last week)

It is not perfectly rectangular and yes it does have a small arc on both sides. As far as being jumbled together I am not sure what you mean. If you mean not perfectly straight, you are right. I didn't think you guys would be so particular. The games fit perfect meaning the lid closes nicely with the games standing upright and you can flip through them easily. Also fit under a bed if need be. I just thought this would be a cheap storage solution for people who don't want to shell out a fortune for expensive bins.

I think they're pretty cool looking -- I've been needing some smaller bins for controllers and extra cables, and I think these will do the trick! I'm off to Wally-World tomorrow, thanks for the tip!

I agree Mannimal, I use one of them for storing my Dreamcast, Sega CDX and my SNES, and the other one for N64 games, Sega games and SNES games!

Can you stack them on top of each other? I was thinking they might be handy in my closet, but I'd want them to be more than 3 high.

I've had no problems stacking them. Though I would recommend doing it in a corner so it's a bit more stable. Two of those stacked get very tall, very quickly, and if you put anything substantial in them, they can also get very heavy, thus somewhat easy to knock over if they're freestanding in the middle of a wall or something.

I also have those 3 drawer plastic sets. I have 7 of the smaller ones and 3 of the wide drawers. The are great don't get me wrong, but they are actually increasing in price. The big 3 drawer set will run $17-20 and smaller ones are $12-15 each. They used to be a little cheaper. Even went up at walmart. They also have a tendancy to tip if you load them up with games or heavy stuff.
The reason I posted was not to spur a debate on what are the better storage bins. I just thought someone might appreciate an affordable solution. If you are a big collector of everything like me, you can use all the cheap bins you can get. Also, at $1.50, you won't get them much cheaper.

I too have the 3 drawer tubs from Kmart. They work perfectly for my NES collection. However, I wouldn't recommend stacking them. I tried doing it once and the top one fell off. Granted it was because my cat jumped on top of them, but they're still not that stable when stacked.
