how does everybody store these? I hate them because unlike the NES and SNES they have no top label. How am I supposed to find the game I want? This might sound like a rant but I really am looking for a way to store these so I can read them.

Get little price or circular stickers and affix them to the top. Just write out an abbreviated version of the game's name. Nothing fancy. That or you could store everything in N64 storage bins, alphabetically, I suppose :P
Yea circle stickers work the best.
I bought a bunch of return address labels and typed out the games titles on them. Works great and looks pretty cool.
I say put them in alphabetical order. It doesn't show you which games still. But it gives you a good idea of where to look.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
Or get original boxes. That looks pretty...assuming you're rich.
Active systems owned: Wii, X360, PS3
Inactive systems owned: RCA, INTV2, NES, SMS, Genesis, Lynx, SNES, Saturn, PS1, GBC, DC, PS2, GBA, Xbox, GC, PSP, DS
Systems wanted: Coleco, 7800, TG16, GG, 3DS, Vita, WiiU
Loose Super Famicom carts are BY FAR worse than N64 carts, and I'm sure others will point out more worse ones. :P
Anyway, I have them stored all retarded... There really is no decent, convenient way to do it. :/ I got ones I don't like/don't play often in their boxes (that's of course IF I have the box), and others I have lined up in rows, piled up in little towers, more rows piled on top of the rows... etc.
Hmm good ideas I'll have to use them on my 32x games.
What I do now is store them in a drawer, with the carts tipped back to see the labels.

I have an electronic label maker. It rocks, prints out little stickers that go right on the top of the cart...it rocks.

You're able to find SFC games complete pretty often, but there's really no color variations (uh...brown? ) to use as a guide.Originally Posted by Aussie2B
thanks allot of good ideas. I think I'm going try some kind of step system first and if I don't like that I'll go to labeling them.
I solve the problem by sticking my N64 carts in a box in the closet and not playing them. Thy are the only video games that I own that are not on display in my room of doom.

For the GOAT Store, I just have them in alphabetical order and that usually does the trick relatively well. If not, an idea that I will do if we end up with many more games in stock (we currently probably have 100 N64 games) is to label the sides of the container that we have them in with an approximate letter spacing. Since our inventory is constantly fluctuating, this won't work perfectly for us, but it is a temporary fix. For a collection, I think this would be perfect as you wouldn't have to affix any labels to games (I would be worried that it would leave a residue or color on the carts) but you can still "label" them.
And as for the worst carts to store, my vote would go to the Odyssey 2. The carts have a little ridge on them that allows them to stack nicely, but you can't easily pull out one. On top of that, when a game's name is "Speedway / Spin-Out / Crytologic," which name do you pick to use. And then you have those crazy board game hybirds...
Sega Master System is my second vote, as the top labels are useless and are only there to make the entire label look bad, it seems. Seriously, why was that design used?

I put my loose ones in official clear plastic clamshells, then use an electronic label maker. Looks great, and holds a manual and a memory card to boot!
i keep mine standing up side ways like books on a shelf, with enough room so i can tip one out to read the label. same trick i use with my SFC games.
NEW ENGLAND CLASSIC GAMING-NEXT TRADEMEET pretty soon... IN BOSTON
I just printed some labels and taped them on top.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them

Currently looking to trade for Magical Chase any version, and especially Dynastic Hero USA version. I have Samurai Shodown V Special MVS, lots of other MVS titles, and tons of games. Check out my profile over at http://gametz.com/user/greedostick.html if you are looking to get rid of one.

do what we do at our stores (the gametrader -- la and ms residents, make a stop!) lay them flat, facing up. of course having a nice big lit display case helps.
