I'm kind of excited about this release. It sounds like a hack'n slash with personality. Anyone else sit up and take notice of this revived old computer title coming out for all platforms?

I sure am! I haven't played any of the newer RPG-style games, but the name "Bard's Tale" has caught my interest. I think the last newish-style RPG I played was Diablo on the PSX.Originally Posted by ianoid

Yeah it seems pretty humorous Always fun to play a game that laughs at itself
its a pretty big off shoot from the original bard's tales but it looks awesome none the less.
BLAST AWAY AND GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it's got Skara Brea and sewers.. I'm in!!

I've been looking forward to this one for a long time. The trailers look hilarious. The only regret I have is that it's not multiplayer coop. I'm just wondering whether or not it's worth the full fifty. I almost never pay that much unless it comes with a nifty pre-order bonus (like Jirachi).
You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
I was really looking forward to this until I saw that it was nothing like the originals. I would have preferred an updated version. Might have to look into what happened to that game that was going to be more of an updated Bard's Tale. I think it was called Devil Whiskey.

The first Bards Tale remains my favorite game of all time. However, this remake is nothing like the original series in anything but name really - So i'm not overly enthused.
I'll probably pick it up in bargain bin a couple months after release, just because i'm a sucker for anything with the Bards Tale name.

I guess this is out already. Anyone playing it?
Also, anyone get the pre-order DVD? I'm curious to know what's on it.
I got it from Gamefly this week but haven't had enough time to sink my teeth into it yet. Unfortunately, I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow morning and won't be back until next Wednesday, so the Bard and company will have to wait a few days.Originally Posted by Keir to the nth power
Orginal Bard Tale was great. I still remember that one big encounter at the end:
99 Berserkers
99 Berserkers
99 Berserkers
99 Berserkers
A long fight to say the least! BTW - Devils Whiskey looks visually stunning. Thanks for the link.
I have seen some screeshots of the new Bards Tale, look a bit like Neverwinter Nights. Hopefully it will due justice for the orginal BT even with the new updated interface.

I just put my 10 hours of play time this "sunny" week into Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
I'm such a Bard's Tale whore from the old that I got the game and it's going to be raining all weekend.. I'll give it 10 hours tonight and let you know.

Hey what did you think of RCT3?Originally Posted by Raedon

Is the 3D that big of a change? Does the 3D make it really hard to place tracks and the like?
The four groups of 99 Beserkers is not at the end. Mangar is the end guy and you need to get to Mangar's tower...I think he had some vampires near him, and if you beat him you got the Spectral Snare or something.
The four groups of 99 Beserkers was in the "barracks" room of Harkyn's Castle. What spell was that that I used to use against them? Was it Mangar's Mallet? There's one that affects all enemies; I believe it was a sorcerer spell. Only way to really kill that many guys in anything resembling a reasonable amount of time.

That spell would be MIBL (Mangar's Mind Blade). Cast it at the Berserkers, set the scroll speed to the max and then go have lunch or something because it's still going to take a while!Originally Posted by calthaer

It's not "Bard's Tale" crawler you loved..That was point blank and we all knew it.
but man, so far it does not drag the name threw the mud!
first impression tomorrow but it's looking like a sleeper. The story is, so far, very entertaining!
