    Default [Sega CD] Mild frustration

Decided to work on my (still) non-functioning Sega CD tray-loader this weekend, and made enough progress to get the tray moving in and out the way it's supposed to. Press reset to open, place disc on tray and press start to load. Works great! Except...

In the process, this unearthed another problem. The thing now refuses to grab and spin a disc, no matter what I put in it. From the little I can see when I've got the thing opened up and running, it looks like the spindle will not lift up high enough to touch the disc hole.

It doesn't look like there are any parts missing (so far as I can tell without tearing the thing further apart), the little drive belt works fine, and all the gearing is in good shape.

    Help!

Sounds like something is mis-aligned. Like, the transport (spindle) is not in the right 'start' position, when eject is pressed.

I do not know what the 'right' position is, but I do know that transports that retract, are usually very fussy about being set in the correct position, when the disc tray position is set.
