Default How exactly does one get the Joust bug to work?

Could anybody give details? I've read about it in different places, but never has anything been so explicit as to describe or show exactly where to stand where the pterodactyl will run into your spear. Every time I've tried to do it, I die.
Everything is yellow to a jaundiced eye.

Are you using an early version of the game that lets you do that? I know they fixed that bug shortly after the game was released.

The previous post is correct. The bug was fixed so you could only do it with the older ROM. But to answer your question:

You must play at least until Wave 17, by then the Lava Troll will be strong enough to hold on to a bad guy. Very important since he is the key. Kill the baddies as usual but try to get one of the bad guys caught by the Troll. When the bad guy that's being held is the last guy, DON'T kill him. Let him struggle as you land on the lower middle stone cloud. Then just wait for the Pterodactyls to come out. DON'T flap, just point your lance toward the Pterodactyl and he will fly up towards you, attack and kill himself against your lance. Just keep standing there as they keep coming out at you. Keep in mind, you must always point towards him, so that's where it gets tricky. Some guys can go on forever. I usually die after a few minutes as I could never keep up with the onslaught.

    Good luck...Buzzard Bait.

If you want, I suggest also standing on the lower middle stone cloud at the beginning of the Pterodactyl Waves. Such as Wave 8. Great way to get rid of those pesky things. For the Pterodactyl Waves that don't have the lower middle cloud, stand on the bottom, just over the "1" on your 100,000 score.

If none of these hints work, then you're playing with the newer ROMs.
