Default SMS Aerial Assault box question

I recently received the game aerial assault for the sms and it has the normal style manual but the box is multilanguage like all the PAL boxes. Is that how the game normally is? I know Strider, Spiderman and Sonic are supposed to be like that but I'm not sure about this one. Any help much appreciated.

So does that mean there is a different NTSC box?

The US version and the version released in the PAL territories have completely different cover art and layouts.

And now for the resident SMS expert to chime in:

Well, I'm glad to hear someone else has run into the multilingual box which holds an English only manual. I've come across one of these myself, and found it to be quite the oddity. I guess this may be a release variation.

Anyway, the "TRUE" US box has "comic book" style art, where as the Euro box has a really nice looking painting for the box art.

check here for pics of a near complete US sms collection : http://www.brooklynboysgames.com/sms/SMS.htm

of course, their Fantasy Zone 2 is European... fools.

I assume your manual looks like the one in the pic on this site.

Do these English-only instructions mention Sega of America? I bought Kung Fu Kid with a multilingual box and "American" instructions from a guy named Olaf who must have moved to the States from Europe (the other games I bought from him were Euro copies, too). I suppose he could have just found a copy and thrown them in there.

Shit...yeah that is the kind of manual I had, didn't even notice the picture was different. So now I have the cart and manual but the incorrect box.......sigh...

Hmm, completing this collection is getting quite confusing.

Up here in Canada alot of the games had the multilanguage back covers. The SMS was more popular up here then in the states so we even got some games that were never released in the states. Battle Outrun, Cyber Shinobi, Basketball Nightmare. I think those were only released in canada in north america. I could be wrong about those titles but there were some. I would bet you have a canadian copy.
