It just erases instead of saving. Is there a special way to save songs?

There's a couple ways. You can use Naki's Game Saver, or a simlar device, or you can use an emulator and save states. Or, you can use your emulator save file and use an SNES flash cart (tototek.com) and I think there might be a way to bring that save file over...not sure about that part tho...I'm sure there's probably a way.
Also, you can take screen caps of the emu version and re-type them in the real thing...hey, it's faster than pen and paper...

I'm pretty sure there's a save and load option in the game. It saves your drawing, your animation, and your music track. It takes a minute to save, but it's there somewhere. Trust me. I've got a whole VHS tape of horribly maladjusted Mario Paint cartoons.
Yeah, songs get saved with everything. If you create some drawing, save it, shut off, come back, create a song, save it. The drawing disappears and all that's left is the song. And vice versa. Basically, get into a habit of loading each time you start up and save before you turn off.
I really wish Nintendo would release a brand new super Mario Paint for the Cube. Or better yet, the DS with the touch screen.
well if u had tha mini snes, you could go right into a comp thru the rca , if u look for the thread about exporting music on one of those ps2 music games u can see how to capture it thru the rca, but only the second snes has the option for rca ....i belive...
