Default Anyone Know Of A Good Game For Running A TV Network?

I remember playing a game (probably on one of the Atari ST computers) where you could run a TV network and create your own shows and see how they did in the ratings. It was fun to do the write-ups and then see them done up in a TV Guide-style listings. I think there may be one or two similar games available for current PCs but I'm not that familiar with them. Anyone have any of those?

If there isn't, there oughta be one. I'd be happy to consult on making one.

Then again, I play that game all the time, just not on a computer. I don't think a simple game could ever approach the complexity.

I think there's a couple PC games like this available...I just need to find out what their specs are and if they're any good. One, TV Tycoon, is listed as being quite boring by PC Gameworld...

    I guess you're thinking of MadTV - http://hol.abime.net/?id=2375

The only other game I can think of that's a bit similar is Hollywood Pictures - http://hol.abime.net/?id=729 (also available for PC)

I'll look for that. The other I found is actually called TV Manager. At one site, the 7 customers who commented on it all said it, too, was quite boring...

You may be thinking of "Prime Time" on the ST. Apparently there is also a DOS version.

    Some related links:

The first has a box shot. The second has a couple screenshots.

Prime Time sounds familiar so that's likely it...

Yes! I checked the Atari link and that's definitely it...I recognize the screenshots...

i know this is kinda different, but there is an upcoming game for the PC called
    'MOVIES!' or something

it works liek ThemePark did, you design your own studios, find a script, direct a movie, advertise for it, release it. it looks pretty fun

PCGame did a Scoop on it a couple months ago.

    And the PS2.

That game is due out next year from Activision.

I don't honestly see any game topping Mad TV in this department.

    I do.

The Movies should ROCK. I can't recall the designer right now but it's a very talent person and group of people, and the ability you will have according to the previews should be impressive.

The designer was Peter Molyneux, famous for designing such games as Black And White, Populous and Fable. I have high hopes for this game as well.
