    Default SF 2 Turbo Question.

UGH! I am playing Street Fighter 2 Turbo on a more difficult level and now useing Chun Li agianst Ryu is VERY heard because ever time I jump he uses a hyruken (i know that's prolly wrong but please excuse it because I am a n00b to SF games)
And it seems like all his moves void out MY moves!
When I was doing a Spinning Star Kick his done one of this shoot magic from my hands thingers and killed me!
It seems like everything can void out her moves agianst him.

The Ryu Chun Li matchup I believe is winnable if you know what you are doing...granted this applies to human competition (which is all I play), but I'm pretty sure the basic points still work.

Basically, getting into a fireball war with Ryu in HF is suicide. This is one of the reasons he's so good in the game, his fireballs are so damn fast. Jumping over them at any range that will bring you down close to him in time for him to recover is a dumb idea, back away so that you land just out of range, in the "sweet spot". Being the computer it'll probably try to shoryuken anyway(if it was a human, I'd warn you to watch out for an anti air sweep or something). Once your in close, just keep the pressure on. If he tries to jump at you, use your sweep (aka a crouching hard kick) to knock him out of the air, since it's really damn good in this game.

One of the basic tricks to being good in SF2 (and most fighters) is not to jump unless the rewards outweigh the risks. Spacing is important as well, especially in sf2. It's very much a difficult game for most modern sf players to pick up on, but it's also the smartest since if you can master the techniques of it, then you can do well in just about any fighter.

Ironically, I didn't play Hyper Fighting back in the day...closest I got was world warriors for SNES. But people play it still over here so I've got to learn the ins and outs of it ;p

I always used Chun Li against Ryu ever since Street Fighter II came out with Chun Li. She's the Ryu killer! Fake a jump in by jumping straight up instead. Wait for the eventual shoryuken. As Ryu lands, jump in with a jab, then do a standing jab, strong fierce. Ryu is dizzy, then go for the Chun Li throw. Against the computer, rinse and repeat. The Chun Li throw, by itself, does 20% damage!
