Default How much would you pay for a panasonic Q?

so the other day they called me into the office at my work, cuz they needed to idnetify something, so they apparently found it in the basement the other day, as soon as i saw it i knew exactly what it was, a panasonic Q, they had got it as a return about 2 years ago and no one knew why or what it was doing there. So after fireing it up and seeing it worked, i asked if it was for sale cuz the thing is gorgeous, and i offered $200 for it, they guy was gonna ask our head boss about it, so its complete and works and all the manuals and stuff are there. My question is, how hard are these to find and how much is it worth? good deal for 200? how high should i go if it comes to it?

    THANKS

Yea, 200 is a good deal! I would say max $300-350 mint shipped.

Personally I wouldn't buy it cause I already have a Cube and a DVD player. But if your a Cube collector I'd say anything up to and including $300 would be a good price.

Yeah, what dj898 (is your name a backhanded tribute to 989 Studios? Curious...) said. Panasonic Q doesn't seem as advanced for today as the Wondermega was/still is, but far as I know it doesn't open have a powered lid and flashing lights :P (note - only one of the models has the powered lid; at the moment I can't remember if it's two Sega models and one Victor, or vice-versa...hmm).

Sega Wondermega - which is rarer of two - and JVC Wondermega both share same design feature apart from white ring around CD door on Sega unit. Then there's ugly(?) sibling JVC Wondermega M2 which you guys in US calls X'Eye ???

Come on what kind of stupid name is that. No wonder it didn't sell well in US... and it lacks all the cool features of original Wondermega...

I got lucky to score a mint Sega one for 15000 yen which is about $135-140 which I think is good bargain especially for Sega Wondermega... heh

    cheers

p.s. no 898 refers to the last three digits of my old mobile#. It was one of my mate when I signed for Hotmail years ago suggested to use dj898 since dj was already in use...

    Default hmm..

I wouldn't waste my money at all. I would just buy a GC and a really nice DVD player...and it would still be cheaper than a Q. That's only my view however...

But, for $200 it seems pretty fair.

Yeah... But it also doubles as a night-light, a shaving mirror and a topic of conversation during a fight with your girlfriend.

Well, the thing is that you can count on that DVD to depreciate value like nobody's business. The Q, though, already is showing signs of being forever boosted to insane levels by GC fan...people.

It's like I tell the people at my work...we've got old LaserDisc players there and you can get a lot of 'em for not much more than a few cups of coffee; but find a CLD-A100 and you're talking $150+.

Ah, thanks for the info about the name. Now for the Wondermegas...yeah, that's what I thought: two JVC units and one Sega branded one (with the powered lid). Crazy.
