Default How does the Namco gun connect on the PS1 and PS2?

I tried Google'ing this but surprisingly didn't find much at all.

I understand for PS1 that if you don't have the original model with the composite ports on the back, you needed the A/V adaptor. Which I do have. I don't have the gun, but does it plug into the A/V port on the A/V connector or how does it work? I'd like to use the S-VIDEO for the PS1 and COMPONENT VIDEO for the PS2...

    No idea how these work...

On the gun there is the AV plug that comes from the controller tip that goes in the system. You can either plug it into the AV adapter like the one shown above, or you *may* be able to plug it into the AV plug on your tv or VCR and then plug your AV plug from the system into that.

For component, plug it into the green wire. Worked for me

Yup, for component video, connect the gun's pass-through plug into the green video lead (that one carries the sync).

If you're using SVideo, connect the TV like normal, and plug the GunCon into the spare composite video lead that will just be dangling around from the end of the cable.

And it doesn't matter where the gun gets connected. You can plug it directly into the PS1 and run a video cable out through that to the TV, or plug it into the back of the TV and hook the video cable into the back of that. As long as the gun can get a sync signal, it'll be fine.

There've been a number of S-Video cables on eBay that have a place to plug the GunCon controller right in! Careful now, some only have the s-vid plug and two other plugs (mono sound I guess?) while other have the normal three A/V plugs AND the S-Video plug. Just a warning (bought the first type by accident, so I've got both on the way...I'm pretty sure they'll be different).
