What's wrong with THIS auction?
I don't know which is funnier, the guy bidding over the value of the card, or the fact that the person who won the card has the username
nascarfan82088, talk about the sterotypical Walmart shopper.
It seems almost like a joke auction
I'll have five of them please shopkeep!
Ok, so why would anyone pay more than the value? What do they gain from that? Cash suddenly ultra rare in that state?
how do you even know if there really is 125 bucks on that card while auctioning?

, that is hilarious ! Usually when someone sells a gift card on ebay, they get less money than what the card is worth , not MORE .
gg @ seller :)
Well, I suppose if you need to get a gift for a friend...maybe you could consider bidding more. Does look like that guy doesn't really understand eBay, though.
I think i shall make an auction selling a very rare 1992 quarter worth 25 cents. Ill be a millionare MUAH-AH-HA-AHA-HA-HA-AH-HAAAA

Completely OT, but that reminded me of when one of my friends said he would see how many people would bid on a "Post Civil War Penny".Originally Posted by squirrelnut

It's actually not uncommon to see older hundred dollar bills selling for less than $100 on eBay; sure after S&H you're losing out, but we're talking 1950s-era bills in brand new condition (there's not much of a market for them, for various reasons).
what about taxes guys?
i don't know much about state sales tax since i live in oregon, but wouldn't it cost more to buy that card at Walmart in Chicago w/ sales tax?

I don't think you pay sales tax on gift cards... Do you?Originally Posted by Qixmaster
you don't pay sales tax on the gift card itself, you pay tax on the items that you purchase with the gift card.
except at my store... gift card buyer pays taxes, no taxes on purchases made with guft cards... its cause of our trade-ins using the same card

Who knows, maybe it's really convinient for the guy this way. It does come with free shipping,
what a tard basket!
What i need: SNES games and a few 32x!
Another thing... I've heard on the local news that gift cards are gonna be the biggest gift this year, so who knows, maybe there's some real competition out there for, uh, gift cards
Well the buyer only paid $2.51 more than the value of the card, and shipping is free. I am assuming he has no Wal-Mart/Sam's Club near him, or that his time in going to the store, standing in line, etc. is worth more than $2.51 to him. I don't think this is such a big deal. It's not like he paid double or even $10 or more over the value.Originally Posted by Griking
His Ebay name is nascarfan001, which negates any intelligent reason for him to buy it. sorry, but every nascar fan I've ever met has been a unwashed mulleted hick. I'm sure there are SOME nascar fans somewhere in the world that aren't hicks.... probally.Originally Posted by esquire
