Just curious as to how everyone else deals with videogame anger. I'm not usually the type to throw a tantrum when playing a game, I've never thrown a controler or busted a console, but forthe first time yesterday I broke a game.
While playing the first Jak & Daxter for PS2 I got so mad at the horrible camera that I jumped up, pressed the eject buttong, took the disk out and snapped it in half, all in about a five or six second time span.
The part that got me so mad was in the last dungeon when going to free the last sage you have to climb a bunch of platforms and then jump up a few spinning platforms to the top level. Well the camera is so bad when trying to jump up the spinning platforms that you really cannot see where you are jumping, or even when and what you are supposed to jump onto because of the angle. Really it just comes down to getting lucky and happening to jump at the right time. I tried it about 15 times before I got it and then as soon as I made it to the top, a stupid move on my part did me in. I then tried the jumping for another half hour or so before lashing out and breaking the game.
Was it childish? You bet, but it made feel feel slightly better after. The downside is my girlfriend got mad because she wanted to play the game, and now I have to spend another $5 to replace it, but it'll be a while before I play it again. By the way I'm 23 (I think age makes a difference, us older gamers shouldn't be throwing fits at games).
