I think he just likes knowing that everyone's talking about him.

I don't know about that, but I think it's more like old man syndrome where you just enter your real name on computer stuff because that's just the way you do it. I'm sure somebody knows what I'm talking about.

Sounds more like a jingle than a full name.

yes, it does seem that *some* members of the older generation are unable to come up with an online handle, and simply use their name.
This is fun, I'm going to dig up some dirt on this foo' tomorrow.

OK, so the guy has some mad fetish for buying up copies of Magical Chase. Extremely irritating to other collectors, yes, but he's doing absolutely nothing wrong and breaking no laws - eBay is an open marketplace and he's perfectly entitled to spend his money as he wishes.
What possible good does it do to dig around trying to find personal information about him? Other than giving the impression that other videogame collectros are all creepy e-stalkers? Get a grip, people.

I agree, I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time.

    Oh, I'm not disputing that

What gets me is the way that he's also got to be the highest bidder at all times - as soon as he gets outbid he throws another one on. Can you even begin to imagine how much he would have saved by just sniping them all? Instead, every single time one pops up, he has to contend with people a) desperate for a copy and b) determined to make him pay as much as is possible if they can't win it. The man is an absolute idiot.

WHOA , they really made you pay for this one! Andre wasn't even the 2nd or 3rd high bidder either. He only bid $325 (I realize that is a TON of money, but it's not that much for him). Maybe he is starting to figure out that paying $400+ for copies of Magical Chase isn't the smartest thing to do, considering he already has 5+ copies. I hope this will give other members the opportunity to win one.

Yeah, I guess he decided he'd let someone else overpay for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but by paying this much for this game aren't you helping him achieve exactly what it is you say he's trying to do; raise the value of the game? not only did he achieve his supposed goal but because of your help he didn't have to spend a dime to do it this time.

Be on the lookout for a thank you email from him any time now.

But if you want the game, what else can you do?

Imagine there was a millionare who decided to bid on every copy of Stadium Events that goes up for sale on EBay. How else are you going to get the game except to try to win it with a snipe bid? It's the same thing Marty did.

Congrats on the win! To misquote the Soup Nazi, "no games for you!"

No, I didn't help him at all. I just got the game I wanted. x_x
Honestly, I don't think i overpaid much at all for that game. It is expensive, but I haven't seen one in that condition cheaper. But hey Griking, thanks for the negative comment (as usual).

I must admit Griking is getting a little annoying of late. I thought this site was supposed to be for video game collectors not Ebay scam artists, but I digress.

I know all to well the pain of having to pay top dollar for some items you really want on ebay and this game just seems to be in that category. Congrats on the well deserved win Marioallstar!

You'd get a thank you email from me if you stopped pissing on Marty's parade.
