the buyer has 220 feedback all which are 100%. I have no doubts that he will pay for it. That is insane as hell though. And look who the seller is... raritygamesinc. Man where does this guy get all those sealed games from? He must make a lot of money

800, now THAT is getting crazy. These sealed games have been going higher and higher and higher. Hopefully my sealed game collection that I started will be worth something someday (I buy a copy of all sealed games I find in stores that are 10 dollars or under and keep them unopened). While I would love to own sealed copies of FF3 and other games, I don't trust ebay, it is too easy to fake a vertical seam and stick a price sticker on the cart and stick one of those plastic things on the back.

OK which do you think is the most crazy 800+ for Final Fantasy III/VI or 100+ for Super Mario world Boxed non GH version. Either way you look at it it spells SNES madness, maybe a name channge for the forum is in order if only a temporary one. LOL

I simply can not fathom spending almost a thousand bucks on a game I'd never play. I have my opened copy, almost complete, and I love that. I just don't understand sealed game collectors. I mean, I'm all for odd collecting quirks, but 800 FRICKIN' DOLLARS!!!

I'm certainly going to unload some SNES titles on the bay if prices are going to be like that this Christmas.

    That is truely insane !!!

When you think about it, the buyer is paying around $725+ for some plastic. I will never understand paying a fortune for sealed games, when you can buy a mint complete copy for a tenth of the price. I mean, the buyer could have bought a super rare game for that price, but he/she would rather buy a common game that is sealed ? What the hell .

Now that is true, the game goes for about $70 if it was in perfect mint complete condition, but throw on some plastic and its 700 bucks more... thats insane. I would say buy a machine that would seal the games like that..it may cost $2000 but it would be worth after a couple reseals..though if someone actaully did this, I would hate them

I hear ya, it's way overpriced, but on the other hand I think people need to get over the "constant sticker shock" on games a little bit. I mean, people pay hundreds of thousands for stamps they will never mail, millions for coins they will never spend, thousands and thousands for comic books they will never read, etc. For some people, sometimes myself included, collecting them is more than half the fun. That's just the way it is whether we're talking about video games you can't play or any other collectible with zero inherent use.

No one has any problem with people collecting trading cards, right? Well, that's exactly what sealed games and other 'collectibles you can't use' are - trading cards.

Yeah and I my post, I guess even if it looks brand new and sealed and you somehow know that the inside contents have never been touched, if it was reasealed but looks factory sealed, still knowing its resealed makes you not want it, just cause you know its resealed I guess...

The argument should be made that sealed games are like rarer "versions" of a game. Much like people don't balk at paying outrageous prices for Stadium Events, which is just in a different package than World Class Track Meet. It's the same game, but the fact that there are fewer Stadium events make it valuable. A complete Final Fantasy is the same game as a sealed one, but there are less sealed ones. I agree that it's ludicrous to pay $800 bucks for a game you can't even authenticate is factory sealed, but to each their own.

Now how would someone go about authenicating a game such as this?

Could you possibly send it away to Nintendo to gain a certificate of authenticity or something?

There must be a company somewhere who specialises in authenicating such things? I know there is a company who will authenticate old vintage carded Star Wars figures, and they will also seal it up in a clear plastic box to preserve it's condition forever - Is there a similar company who will do the same to games such as this?

I agree though - a sealed copy of a game is indeed a rarer version of it - Just take FF7 as an example!

I am with you too. I agre, half the fun is collecting and having "Bragging rights" to owning such a thing.

In the context of games, I find you have better "Bragging rights" if you own a sealed version of a game, than someone who just owns the game - Especially if it's a rare game to start with!

I collect sealed games, but I DO have the intention to play them. I just don't currently have the time to do so, so what's the point in opening a game I have just bought if I haven't the time?

Besides, I find it a lot better to buy the game sealed, and then track down the ROM / ISO of it and play it on my PC instead... - Either that, or I can easially just borrow from a mate / Blockbuster's

I also see the game as art. Some people will spend millions on a paintings or statues... I prefer to spend my money on a factory sealed game and view it at my leisure. A sealed game is so much more magnificent than a pre-owned version, or one with many finger prints and dust on it...

Plus, i'm also safe knowing that one day in the future, if I choose to actually open it, it will be in pristine perfect condition! And if I want to sell it in the future, I will get more for it!

These are the antiques of the future! One day, a factory sealed Radiant Silvergun will be in a museum along with the Da Vinci's and Monet's!
