[PS1] PAL Rarity List (UPDATED 06-19-2006!!!!!)

ok, i've got a Playstation Games Guide from early 1999, which lists all games released in Germany until then, should be quite accurate, it lists all those games with USK, Dev and Pub, no SLES though, do you need that list? i could make an xls file of it and provide it for you, but as that's already quite a lot of work and a lot of info and i'm able to inform you about any new german releases i might even consider teaming up with you (i wouldn't do any work on rarity and prices though except commenting ones i disagree with as i don't collect PSX and don't know shit about rarity/price usually...)

to answer a few of your questions:
- it's always good to know if promo disks were released
- the SLES or SCES number is fine
- i already got my hands on the internal MM release list - it's a great source of information what got released and when (some dates are out of sync though ("1901"))

what we do right now is dig through all the information we have to build a masterlist where all the verified games are listed. Tinsair specifies verified as "seen with my own eyes" which is the only possible approach to get an accurate masterlist.

i already told david about it but here we go again, those 1901 dates are there because the MM db was changed in 1996 or something like that... so, check what's the oldest "real" date in the MM list and you'll know that every 1901 game was released before that date

yeah i also use the "only proven when seen" rule for my sections. i COULD give you picture proof of all games i gave you details about as i do own them but you know you can trust me

for the Playstation Games Guide list, it should be 100% accurate as they are listing games released before they did the guide, it's not like the reviews of unreleased games in game mags, it's an retrospective on the psx era until 1999 but there could of course always be 1-2 games in there not released, it's unlikely though

i'd say i do type in the list and then you have to proof all of those games on ebay.de, how does that sound?

i've got bad news though, it seems like i have lost the list i made of the newer releases, DAMN

i could go out and check the local MM, Expert and Karstadt though, but that would take some time... if i had a print-out of the master list of proven and unproven games though i could go through all stores i know quite quickly and at least prove if some exist and perhaps also collect SLES and pub/dev/© info, maybe even USK ratings

On the basis of the back inserts it seems that A2 Racer: Europa Tour and A2 Racer III: Europa Tour are the same game. I have the games listed with question marks.

I have sent an e-mail to Davilex about the game series hoping some info. It's one of the series I had trouble identifying but maybe they'll lend us a hand.

A2 Racer definatley exists, as for them pics of A2 Racer 2 & 3 they are edited pics of A2 Racer: Europa Tour which is already on the list as Europe Racer.
But I will add this as the Holland version of Europe Racer in the AKA section.

you are right about part 3, but honestly, i don't see any chance part 2 is an photoshop-job with the europe racer cover, it looks different to me, and additionally, why should davilex release part 1 and 3 in holland but not part 2?

I just had another look at the top left game on that pic Hydr0x and it isn't A2 Racer, it is in fact A2 Racer Europa Tour.

sorry but i don't get it, but the fact your pictures don't work doesn't help

the pictures i linked show two different A2 games, one is "A2 Racer III: Europa Tour", that one clearly is an original legit copy as can be seen on the one pic with the lot, it exists

the other one is "A2 Racer II" (subtitle can't be seen on picture), that one seems to be a bootleg, but who would actually photoshop and fake a cover so it's the WRONG one for his game? i can't see that honestly. there are two possibilities for that one, 1) it's part II with a print out cover, in that case part II exists, 2) it's another part with a part II cover, in that case, well part II has to exist, otherwise he wouldn't have the cover, tell me, if you had a copy of part I or III, would you really make a fake part II cover to fit in there? NO WAY , which leads us to possibility one being true, and thus part II exists (apart from the fact that i can't see a reason why davilex would release part I and part III, but not II)

well, anyway, even if you think II is a fake, III is for real 100%

oh and if you search google for the first parts you'll find that some people have offered those on market places and ebay in the past, just a matter of time until they show up

The A2 Racer III: Europa Tour is fake. It has SLES-00234 (Virtual Pool) listed as catalogue number but the copyright year is 200X. The "III" is just placed on the A2 Racer: Europa Tour cover, it even has the same numbers on the bottom PlayStation part. You can see better pics on cdcovers.cc.

These CD cover sites have a lot of PlayStation forgeries, some better than others. You have to be really careful as PS covers are pretty easy to make. What I actually wanted to know from Davilex is how the A2 Racer is related to the London Racer I & II. Seems to me they're gone a bit crazy about racers.
