just a small update to the Playstation PAL project:

Tinsair is currently working on the list including the release dates after deleting/creating game entries and adding SLES/SCES numbers.

Ataribuff is currently searching for data and is waiting for Tinsair's list to work on it afterwards.

Davidleeroth is currently working on his data and when ready will send it to Tinsair and Ataribuff for verification and Ataribuff will add the data then to the database.

    Have a nice weekend

    the first update in 2005:

thanks to data provided by tinsair and davidleeroth we currently have 1398 different confirmed games in the database, *most* with all needed information.

again, thanks goes out to my 2 teammates for making this all possible, the friendly guys from the DP Playstation NTSC project and the DP guys themselves :P

    time for another update:

first things first: as tinsair pleaded in another thread: we're missing some SLES/SCES numbers - maybe YOU can help out.

kevincure approached me about the TOP 5 most rare PAL PS1 games - feel free to add your opinion.

our database comes along nicely - one of the last things to do in our books is the rarity/dollar values. we keep you posted.

thanks again to my teammates tinsair & davidleeroth

    @atariBuff

    what numbers are you missing?

where can i see those top5 rare?? (actually i don't have any idea where to look for your list other than in the rarity guide)

here are the last 3 releases we got into store, all are just re-releases by AK Tronic for 15E each... (so the smurfs game actually ain't new, contrary to what i claimed before)

    Beyblade - Let it rip!

    FSK 0
    release date: 15.01.05
    Pub: Atari Man: Hudson/Takara
    EAN: 3,546430-107287

Die Schlümpfe: Auf die Plätze, fertig, los!
    SLES-03120
    FSK 0
    release date: 15.01.05
    Pub: Atari Man: A2M
    EAN: 4,012160-192156

    Sports Superbike 2
    SLES-03027
    FSK-0
    release date: 15.11.04
    Pub: Midas Interactive, Man: MereMortals

    hi hydr0x

thanks for your quick response - please see the thread tinsair opened for the missing release numbers.

we don't have our 5 rarest games yet - kula world and castlevania sotn bring top prices on eBay but are they really that rare?

    cheers,
    Reinhard

ok thx, don't mix up rarity and price, i have no idea about Kula, but Castlevania SOTN ain't that rare, there's just a high demand for it, i've already seen 7 copies of it in the wild during the last 2 years and i don't have THAT many locations where i look (nearly no fleas) and just look at the publisher, it's a Konami game, no Konami game in the last 10 years is anywhere near really rare...

don't mix up rarity and price
don't be alarmed - we don't mix that. price and rarity often don't go hand in hand.

the questions is: is there a rare PS1 PAL game (yet)?

Suikoden also commands high prices on eBay but there is always a copy availaible there.

i'm pretty sure there are, but i have no clue which ones i'm not a psx guy at all... maybe some Limited Editions like Wild 9 (although i've seen 3 of those in the wild) but more likely some crap games from small publishers

btw, do you have the Disney Triple Pack on your list, i can't remember which games it has inside (Monster inc? Bugs Life? something like that)

Yeah we have 2 Disney Triple Packs on our list, but we have put that in the description field of each game that it applies to.

    @Tinsair & davidleeroth

nearly the latest release of the PAL list is online now but we are on a little hold at the moment as Joe is going to send me a new database sheet next week (with correct online indexes) - please keep the updates coming and a big thanks to you two

    folks, another IMPORTANT thing:

as we have many games released under different names (AND different ingame graphics like the title-screen) for various european regions I think it is necessary to make an extra entry in the database for them as I would say they count as individual title. I DON'T mean it for games with their manuals or back covers in different language BUT for games like:

    Max Power Racing (english release)
C3 Racing: Car Constructors Championship (german release)

    or

    Total Drivin' (english release)
    M6 Turbo Racing (french release)

    or

the Disney stuff which was renamed pretty heavy in Europe.

Of course the references will stay that everybody knows thats the same game under a different name.

What do you guys think? Maybe Joe can give his input aswell.

In dealing with similar cases on the Mega Drive list (Disney titles again and a few sports games), I've just listed the alternate titles in the 'aka' field, and stuck with English for the main name.

yeah, we also did that BUT I have for example M6 Turbo Racing and NOT the english version Total Drivin'. What shall I do in my online "Have-List"? When I mark Total Drivin' instead (which I don't have) it simply isn't correct. x_x

I think maybe we should keep the list as it is, if you have M6 Turbo Racing you don't really want Total Drivin'! I have a few titles that have different names in other parts of Europe but I don't want them aswell.

if it's an alternate title it doesn't qualify for a 2nd entry, it's the same game, and anyone would consider the collection complete without the 2nd one... this is especially true for the Disney Games, those should never have mutlitple listings, the other examples you mentioned are borderline examples, not 100% sure what to do with those... don't have things like that in the lists i deal with
