    Default Sega CD Issue

I pulled my Sega CD unit out of the closet today, and after hooking everything up I noticed that the system was adding extra "chirping" or beeping to the games. Even during the boot up screen, it seemed to be playing this extra chirping medley that I don't think belongs there.

Any idea what is causing these stray sounds? It really happens a lot during FMV sequences, but also elsewhere.

I made a quick capture of what it sounds like at startup. You can view that file here.

that's a new one. Clean the genny expansion slot, and blow out the CD slot with compressed air.

Im just speculating, but could that be a result of not hooking up the headphone cord to the back of the Sega CD (that is, if you have a model 1)?

Both the CD unit and the Genesis are Model 2, so that can't be it. But I did try it with a original Genesis with the headphone cord... no luck.

I don't know what would cause that, but damn, your video brought back memories.
