Default Controller doesn't work with Star Ocean 3

i just got an Intec controller for my ps2 that has a rapid/auto fire option on it and it doesn't work at all when playing star ocean 3. the controller works for every other game i tried but not SO3. could it be something with the game settings or how the ps2 is set up? or do some games just not work with some contollers? any ideas?
    yes i did it.

I'd recommend staying away from 3rd party controllers !!! that's from my own experience !!!! if I ever get any 3rd party controllers in a trade or bundles I usually throw them away in trash or give em away !!!!

the only 3rd party controller i like is the madcatz microcon controller(10-12 bucks at walmart) for the gamecube only. i really hate 3rd party controllers because they just arent the originals no matter how hard they try(usually sticky buttons and whatnot as well) i guess rapid fire is a plus for your fingers(even though it is a bit cheesy) but still i reccomend you stay away from them. i have a namco arcade stick that wont work with most games or puts them in a wierd camera angle. its nice for fighters................but screws up on non namco games. oh well. spend the extra few and get a 1st party, if you need rapid fire, i think i saw a wire that you could hook up(like an extension cable) but im not sure where.

What do you need rapid fire with Star Ocean 3?

Really, it's not needed. Just plug in the normal controller.

Actually, a turbo controller is kind of needed. Try getting that one item creator who wants the prize from the bunny races that costs 100 points normally without going insane. :P I put hours in those damn races, and I think I still only have around 12 points.

Oh, I never did the bunny races once. Now I understand.

Try another controller, then. But it's also very possible that Square Enix DISABLED rapid fire on purpose ato avoid cheating.....
