Anyone know a way? I've heard of a game genie way, and a way to alter the system. Don't know much about either ways and couldn't find anything about it. Thanks

Pull the cover off the system. That'll do it real cheap. Cut out the little tabs on the genny cartridge slot. That'll do it also.
Game Genie is the most elegant way.

I've heard that it just wont work because of a lock out code and you need the genie to bypass it, and only a few games work this way. Is that right?
I'm under the impression that it's only a few games that are locked out, and require a hardware mod to the genesis.
I have 3 import japanese megadrive games. they all play throgh the regular Genny with genie, or with a slot mod (or cover off).

I really don't think that there is a lock out for japanese games, but rather a lock out for some of the later EU megadrive releases. It's more of a 50/60Hz thing really.
I use a game genie and it works fine. It's just the physical limitation of the cart not fitting in the slot, which is why it works if you take the cover off. The genie just acts as a passthrough adapter, so it doesnt even need to be turned on or anything.

would any of you jive turkeys happen to know if golden axe 3 is one of the titles compatible with the game genie trick? i really don't want to cut holes in my genesis or 32x for that matter, thanks.
Actually, a japanese mega drive game fits in the 32x cart slot with out any modifications.
