Default Just how do you use a famicom adaptor?

Ok, I got my gift from the person who drew my name for Secret Santa and they sent me a few Famicom games.

I have a famicom adaptor that was lying around so I decided to use it for the first time.

However, just how is this supposed to work? I tried inserting it and all I got was screens of various colors. The Famicom game was snapped onto the adaptor as well.

Kinda dumb question but I really wan to try out these games.

That's pretty much it. There are 2 conections now instead of one though, so you need to make sure both are tight, and that both sets of contacts are well cleaned.

It might just be my NES though. I haven't used it for a few months so it's possible that dust might have built up. I'm going to clean it and try again.

The Famicom cart should be upside down when you put it in the system.

Li wang gave you the answer I was going to. The famicom cart will be the opposite direction of your Adapter. The adapter should be facing up, while the famicom cart should be facing down.

This isn't a stupid question, I asked it too last year right after I bought my adapter. Ok... it's kinda stupid

unless you're like me and take apart the adaptor and reverse the case so you don't get confused anymore
