Gradius V. Raw nerve and reflex. is katamari really an action game? i consider it more of a puzzler, or collection adventure.. I really can't consider something to be action when there's nothing to kill.
Gradius V is my first choice in this thread! Perfectly adapted to the next genaration IMO.

Well, Although i loved San Andreas a lot, it doesnt fell right voting for it so, i voted Ninja Gaiden. Great Graphics, Awesome Gameplay and IMO replay value..

Sonic Heroes, I really do love this game. (even though I know alot of people don't). Great game.
Megaman X8. Easily one of the best games in the series. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who voted for it, either.

GRAY. DEE. US. FIVE. No contest... actually, Neo Contra comes very close, but I gotta give my preference to the most innovative Gradius since Gaiden. Can Katamari Damacy be considered an action game, though?

Sonic Heroes got my vote! Considering I was the one who submitted it and all.
I voted for GTA: SA. An entire state of playfield to run around in and quite a lot of cool stuff to do.

i just got thug2 over the holidays, and it is extremely fun. granted, i beat the game within 24 hours of me playing it, but hey, i still play it. the game is very, very good, i had to give my love to thug2 on this one
I really dont think Katamari belongs here. I LOVE that game, got it release day, but action game, it is not.
That said, I picked GTA:SA

Any hoo, my vote goes for sonic heroes.
Ninja Gaiden easily. I just can't get enough of all the great moves and kick ass enemies.

I voted for Gradius V. Shooters (whether first-person or schmup) are the quintessential definition of an action game.
And I agree that KD doesn't belong in this list.
