Well, the annoucement names both Nintendo and Konami, without specifying whether it's co-development or developed by Konami/published by Nintendo (which is most likely the case).
After all, Donkey Konga was developed by Namco and published by Nintendo...
I know what you mean, which is why I said DDR. They may make a real DDR to follow it up. You know, with real DDR music. As opposed to the Mario only themed one. Basically, it could succeed..Originally Posted by JJNova
You don't know... maybe there'll be some regular DDR music too, just not as much as usual.
Funny you mentioned the regular DDR thing, because this thread got me all furious. So I wrote about it in Third Eye Pereption.
Sheesh, Nintendo seems determined to put Mario in every genre known to man. And I agree with those above about Nintendo's endless franchise games.I like Mario and all, but I think they need to give the series a breather. Pikman is seemingly the only new series Nintendo has made in a long time.
I sense a bit of over-reacting here...
It's quite simple. If you want it, buy it. If you don't want it because Mario's in it, don't buy it.
The way I see it, Konami would have never released DDR on the Cube without Nintendo offering some sort of incentive to guarantee sales... Mario. If it does do well, perhaps we'll see a "traditional" DDR on the Cube or Revolution.
I don't understand all this doom and gloom that "Nintendo is teh doomed!" just because Mario's making a cameo in two games... one of which probably won't even reach the states until late this year.
I believe Animal Crossing came out for the N64 in Japan. Nintendo still puts out some good games. They go the "safe route" all too often though. People come down hard on Sony for all the sequels on their machines. People don't seem to mind as much when Nintendo does the same. Nintendo has really got to pull off a revolution in home gaming if it wants to survive. They keep losing ground generation after generation.Well Gamecube has brought a few new ones.
Pikmin
Animal Crossing people
Ness (yay!)

If Mario's in there, then Solid Snake, Simon Belmont, or Fuuma better be in there. Or maybe a Moa...er, excuse me, it's Tsuchinoko now.
I guess that explains why the GC game is called Animal Forest +.
Animal Crossing WAS released as a N64 game (as Animal Forest). It was then ported to the GCN as Animal Forest + (or Animal Crossing for us).
THIS is how you "do the Mario". Or at least, how my son does it.

Just like others said, i'm sure that this time i'll pick the import version, as it will have better music than the us version (anyone ready to play 'round the mountain on DKGA?).
While on the topic, does anyone know where I can download a clip of the old "do the mario!" song from The Super Mario Super Show?
Speaking of Donkey Konga, DK2 is coming out later this year and will apparently have more recent music...
As a fan of all music that isn't todays music, I can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Lucky for you, I'm a pack rat...Originally Posted by Promophile
