Its eye candy
It is truely amazing to see how far the handheld market has come in only a short period of time. It doesn't seem like that long ago when the Game Boy Color was on top of the handheld world, and then the GBA was released my sophomore year in H.S, and I thought the graphics were incredible for a portable system. The PSP's graphics are awesome, I would have never imagined anything like this coming along so soon.
What happened to Medievil?
I'm playing the original game right now for the first time and I sure hope there's a sequel! Argh.
not too bad....but I'm still more excited about my castlevania for the DS. I want NOW.
I might be the only one, but when it comes to handheld gaming, I like 2D. I mean, 3D is awesome for consoles, but if it's in my hand, I'm happy with 2D

All trolls and fanboys aside, those are very impressive graphics for a handheld. Hell, they don't look bad for a regular console!
Disclaimer: I am not a fanboy of any kind. I love video gaming of all sorts regardless of manufacturer.
I may be in the minority here, but here it goes...
Actually, with what is shown there, I am not that impressed. I am not saying they are crap, but I didn't see anything that made me go "WOW." The majority of the games shown there are sports and racing games. Those type of games make me go "eh." Moreover, some of the screenshots show very jagged graphics (Dynasty Warriors, Metal Gear). Untold Legends looks good, as does Twisted Metal. Coded Arms looks promising. With all the sports, racing games available at release, it looks like Sony will be focusing on multiple player games using multiple PSPs rather than the single player experience.
I read somewhere that the PSP is gonna have PS2-like graphics, and the DS has N64-type graphics. By the looks of those screenshots, that is quite accurate.
DC--- It's STILL thinking....!!
Those really are quite impressive. I know I'll end up with a PSP sooner or later, but right now I don't see any must-have games. Didn't capcom say they had a new Breath of Fire in the works for PSP? I'll have to see how that turns out. That might be the "killer app" for me.

The PSP has only a slightly slower processor than the PS2.Originally Posted by Evil E
Wipeout Pure looks badass and I cant wait to play that baseball at launch! I hope they make a High Heat for it.
Compare the two Ridge Racer versions. DS isnt looking so hot. Ive watched some demo videos of RR on PSP and the gameplay looks sweet. I hope it controls as good as it looks.

You're in trouble, program. Why don't you make it easy on yourself. Who's your user?
END OF LINE
I would say more like PSone graphics, just shrunk down to a smaller screen. It's a bit much to say that those are PS2 graphics.Originally Posted by Evil E

Now if only the battery life wasn't crap.
I hoping SCE also put more time and effort into building something that doesn't break withing a year.Originally Posted by Promophile
i think psp looks sleeker than the ds though. but, all i see is an upgrade in graphics. nothing amazing is happening with the psp.... its going to be the same kind of games i already own on a console. when a new system comes out, i want innovation. i want stuff i've never seen before. not to sound like a fan boy, but the ds has soemthing different. it might be gimmicky, but its innovative. thats why i see the ds doing better.
then again, if it's got "playstation" in the name, it'll sell
