It wouldn't be so bad if all their fees were only applied when your item sells, but having to pay those listing fees every time you relist an item is bullshit. At least offer a relisting discount or something, that's what most newspaper classifieds do. And personally, I think what they really need to do is to charge a ridiculously large fee for ending a listing early, especially if it's an item that has bids on it, and you cancelled out all the bids so you could end it. Force all the sellers to play by the rules, so when some big spender sends them an email asking them to end their listing early, for some big cash deal under the table, they'll turn 'em in for breaking the rules, instead of ending their listing. I'm really tired of stuff I wanna snipe disappearing before I get to snipe it!

I got the exact same long email that was posted above, but I seriously think it was a spam email pretending to be from eBay. It had a few links you could click on in the message that looked obviously like it wasn't from eBay...so perhaps these increased fees are fake.

I could be wrong tho, as I trust probably 10% of the emails that are supposedly from eBay or Paypal (most are fake), but I already deleted this email so I can't look it over again or try out those links.

Does anybody else think this is just fake spam? I didn't actually check out eBay to see if these increased fees are listed there too...

    :/

eBay gloats about their stunning track record. Of course the business in India is completely ridiculous, but they let folks get away with murder on the international/U.S. site, pure and simple.

Most of it doesn't affect me, but I'm annoyed about the Buy It Now increase. The great thing about it was that no matter how much it was, it was only a nickel more.

eBay's going to keep raising their fees as long as they can get away with not losing too many sellers. Considering the amount of buyers on the venue they can raise it a lot in my perspective. I will pay just about anything to them as long as I'm still making a profit.

I really see no reason for eBay to raise the prices by so much besides greed. Their costs have not gone up considerably from what I can see - and they don't really give us any good features that boost sales. If anything they continue to roll out features that do the opposite and continue to clutter the site. I'll be a very happy person when eBay is replaced by another venue.
