With the release of Activision Anthology PS2 I thought this'd be a good topic.
Mine: H.E.R.O. Has the same exploration angle as Pitfall 2 but with more adrenaline thanks to the time limit.

I've always loved River Raid myself but thanks to AA, I'm enjoying Pitfall now.
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
Pitfall 2
Megamania
River Raid will always be my fav. Activision title. Although I played the 8-bit computer version way more than the VCS version.
Rounding out my Top 3 would be:
H.E.R.O.
Barnstorming
Time will be when the broadest river dries
And the great cities wane and last descend
Into the dust, for all things have an end
Pitfall 2 was easily beat- I liked the 8-bit version too which included a "2nd part" to the adventure.
My all-time favorite is Dolphin- this game got little fanfare but I loved it. I was able to beat the cart version consistently to see the secret word (around 233,000 pts) which won you the patch. I could do it in 20-30 min. The PSX version is shortened & not the same! :/
I see the PS2 version gives the patch much sooner...
A close 2nd is Enduro- feeling the pressure when you still have many cars to pass after driving in the fog!
"The big things that...nerds like to argue about might not actually matter that much."
Ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-kaboom
My life and perception has changed, but my principals are the same.
Enduro!
After that, it's pretty much the same as everyone else... Kaboom, Hero, etc.

Chopper Command is my #1 favorite. Seaquest and Spider Fighter are right up there too.
Dreadnaught Factor or Pitfall II....Both are so rockin!!
Enduro is my favourite. This game is incredible balanced and one of the bests racing games ever.
Close seconds would be Pitfall or Seaquest...

H.E.R.O.
<edit> Oops.. that's an Imagic title
Activision.. yeah I'll second Enduro
I'd say Pitfall II but only the 8-bit version with the extra levels. HERO is my favorite 2600 Activision title with Cosmic Commuter a close second.
I feel Private Eye deserves an honorable mention since it's a fun game but it can get very frustrating.
Tempest
wow, that is a tough choice, and there are lots I haven't even played yet, so Iknow I have missed lots of greats too. I think Activision were video game Gods.
I will pick Frostbite, my very close runner ups are Megamania, Seaquest and Plaque Attack.
Great thread!
RIVER RAID
Megamania
Chopper Command
Pitfall
Spider Fighter
I like the games that don't really get mentioned a lot. Crackpots, Frostbite, and Pressure Cooker. I can also play Stampede for hours, although I'm not very good at it.
"Rope-em, cowgirl!"
~~~ He's a demon on wheels! ~~~ ^_^
Just what IS it about Stampede?!?!?! There is nothing to that game at all but when I get started I just can't put it down!!! Just one more! Just one more! AAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
River Raid is awsome!
