Can we be honest here and say that these people are just creating accounts to be able to read the Off Topic threads? There are always new accounts but no new posters. At any given time, there are hundreds of people online reading the threads but the same 3-7 people always posting.

why do people make accounts if theyre not going to post anything? the only thing I can see that you wouldnt have access to as a non-member is the Off Topic section. are people making accounts just to lurk in the Off Topic area?

Hi everyone. My name's Chris. I've been aware of this forum for a long time and finally registered.

I used to be a big collector. These days I'm not so interested in having a large collection (I've been steadily selling off quite a few games). It's more exciting to me to pare it down to a smaller collection but one where every game is something I'm really interested in. But I still have a real passion for retro video games, the aesthetics, the history, all of it.

Hi everybody, reintroducing myself. Joined in 2007. Was active for a few years mostly as a thrift store/goodwill junkie. Then not so much. Pleasantly surprised this place still exists, although sad about the drama from a few years ago and the rarity guides being gone? That's why I actually came here today, read an article about DeepMind learning "all 57 Atari 2600 games" and I had a huge chuckle. All 57 that were on the Classic, apparently, but I wanted to check the guides. Ah well, party on and keep gaming.

Huh. I could've sworn I checked the rarity guide not long ago and it was still there, albeit out-of-date. The page isn't down altogether, so I don't know what's up with it. I hope it's just a temporary thing.
